Spending a day on the water with friends or family provides a tailored paddling experience along scenic estuaries or coastline. Sessions are led by highly qualified Paddle UK sea kayak leaders, combining safety, skills development and enjoyment for all abilities.
Planning begins before your session, with the guide agreeing on preferred date, location and route. On arrival, equipment is issued and a safety briefing is delivered, covering kayak handling, paddling techniques and rescue skills.
The group then sets off, enjoying a mixture of scenic paddling, stops for snacks or breaks, and optional skill practice along the way. Routes are tailored to suit the group’s experience and desired pace, ensuring everyone can participate comfortably.
Journeys usually stay in sheltered conditions, with instructors adjusting the route to suit tides, wind and overall group ability. Participants are encouraged to engage with the surroundings, spotting wildlife and learning about local marine habitats.
Tours launch from a pre-agreed point along the Pembrokeshire coast or estuary, providing calm, safe waters suitable for all levels. Coastal features and estuary channels create a varied experience with natural breaks for rest and observation.
Routes are designed to avoid congestion with other water users while providing access to scenic bays, coves and wildlife-rich areas. Flexibility is maintained to accommodate tides, wind conditions and group preferences.
Participants should be comfortable spending several hours on the water and be able to paddle for sustained periods. A moderate level of fitness helps ensure everyone enjoys the session.
While beginners are welcome, at least one adult per group must be responsible for supervising participants under 18. Prior kayaking experience is not essential as guidance and instruction are provided throughout the day.
All tours are led by Paddle UK-qualified sea kayak leaders, experienced in running safe and enjoyable group sessions. Equipment is maintained to high standards, with safety and comfort considered for each participant.
Guides integrate local knowledge, environmental responsibility and wildlife awareness into the session, providing a memorable day on the water that combines learning, exploration and relaxation.
