The session includes a full safety briefing and quality equipment, helping you build confidence to paddle independently. It is suitable for beginners and designed to accommodate different skill levels.
The session begins with a comprehensive safety briefing, where instructors will provide buoyancy aids and explain essential safety procedures. You will receive guidance on basic paddling strokes, balance, and steering techniques suitable for your chosen craft—either a paddle board or kayak.
Following the briefing, you will practice on calm waters under close supervision. Instructors will tailor advice to your progress, offering tips to improve control and efficiency. Weather and tide conditions will be taken into account to ensure the safest and most enjoyable experience. You may be recommended a specific craft to match conditions and skill level for the best results.
The session is structured to build confidence and prepare you for independent paddling in other locations. If you prefer, you can bring your own equipment for a reduced price, though the use of provided gear ensures you have access to properly maintained and suitable craft.

All necessary equipment, including kayaks or paddle boards and buoyancy aids, are provided for the session. You just need to wear suitable clothing for water activities, such as quick-drying layers or a wetsuit depending on the weather.
If you prefer to bring your own kayak or paddle board, you can do so by selecting the ‘use own equipment’ option. This reduces the cost of the session, but safety briefings and buoyancy aids are still provided and must be worn at all times.
No prior experience is required. The session is designed for beginners and focuses on teaching basic paddling techniques in a safe and supportive environment. The instructor will guide you step-by-step through the skills needed.
If you have some experience, the instructor will help improve your technique and confidence. The session is adaptable, so everyone can progress at their own pace regardless of skill level.

The instructors are trained in first aid, safeguarding, and recovery procedures, and carry VHF radios for emergency communication. This ensures that assistance can be quickly summoned if needed, providing extra reassurance.
Sessions are run only when weather and tide conditions are suitable for safe paddling. If conditions are not safe, the activity may be postponed or cancelled to protect participants.
In some cases, the instructor may recommend switching to a kayak or paddle board depending on the weather, as certain craft perform better in specific conditions. Your safety and enjoyment will always come first.
