A long but well-paced day links Hurghada with Luxor’s most important ancient sites, combining guided visits with a sunrise balloon flight over the Nile Valley. With a private Egyptologist guide throughout, the focus stays on moving smoothly between locations while learning about each site as you go. Travel, meals, and activities are organised so the day runs without needing to arrange anything yourself.
Late evening pickup from your hotel marks the start of the journey, with a private air-conditioned transfer heading towards Luxor overnight. On arrival in the early morning, there’s a short stop before heading out for a sunrise hot air balloon flight, giving wide views across the temples, fields, and river as the light changes across the landscape. After landing, the day continues with your guide taking over for the full sightseeing route.
The itinerary moves across both sides of Luxor, starting with the Valley of the Kings where you’ll visit selected royal tombs and see detailed wall carvings inside. From there, the tour continues to the Temple of Hatshepsut, followed by a stop at the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch at a local restaurant, the afternoon continues with a visit to Karnak Temple, one of the largest temple complexes in Egypt, before finishing at Luxor Temple. A felucca sailboat ride is included during the day for a slower view of the Nile before the return journey back to Hurghada.
The experience takes place in Luxor, one of the most historically significant cities in Egypt, set along the River Nile and surrounded by ancient monuments. The journey begins in Hurghada, with travel across desert roads connecting the Red Sea coast to the Nile Valley.
Luxor is known for its concentration of archaeological sites spread across both riverbanks, including temples, tombs, and large ceremonial complexes. The route is designed to cover key highlights on both the east and west banks in a structured way, allowing time at each location without rushing.
No prior experience is needed to take part in this tour, but it is a long travel day with early morning and late evening hours. Comfortable clothing and footwear are recommended due to walking at multiple sites.
Participants should be able to manage extended travel time by vehicle and moving between outdoor historical locations. Entry fees for monuments are not included and are paid locally on the day.
Careful coordination across transport, guiding, and site visits ensures the day runs in a clear sequence without unnecessary delays. Having a private Egyptologist guide means the pace can be adjusted slightly depending on interest and timing at each stop.
Attention is given to making a long journey as smooth as possible, with planned rest points, included meals, and structured logistics throughout. The aim is to provide a well-organised route through Luxor’s key landmarks while keeping the day manageable from start to finish.
Pickup is usually around 11:00 pm the night before the main sightseeing day. This allows travel time to reach Luxor before sunrise.
You’ll travel overnight in a private air-conditioned vehicle so you arrive early enough for the balloon flight and full day of sightseeing.
