Ride deep into the Eastern Desert on a guided quad safari that combines open desert riding with a short cultural stop along the way. This half-day experience focuses on time on the quad, simple desert scenery, and a break at a traditional Bedouin settlement before returning to Hurghada.
Your experience starts with hotel pick-up in Hurghada and a transfer to the quad bike station on the edge of the desert. On arrival, you’ll receive a safety briefing and basic riding instructions, followed by a short test drive to ensure you’re comfortable controlling the quad before heading out.
The main ride covers long desert stretches, following established routes across sand and hard-packed terrain with wide-open views and mountain backdrops. The pace is steady and guided, allowing time to get used to the quad while still covering meaningful distance rather than short loops near the station.
Midway through the ride, you’ll stop at a Bedouin village where there’s time to rest, drink traditional tea, and take a short camel ride around the settlement. After the break, you’ll remount your quad and ride back through the desert to the station, before returning to your hotel in Hurghada.
The safari takes place in the Eastern Desert outside Hurghada, an arid landscape of sand plains, rocky ground, and distant hills. Routes are selected for accessibility and visibility rather than technical difficulty, making them suitable for riders with no previous experience.
Being close to Hurghada allows for short transfer times and a focused riding window, meaning more time on the quad and less time travelling. Conditions are typically dry and predictable, which helps keep the experience consistent year-round.
No previous quad biking experience is required. Participants must be able to follow instructions, control the vehicle safely, and feel comfortable riding independently after the test drive.
This activity is not recommended for pregnant participants or those with serious back or joint issues. Closed footwear and basic physical coordination are advised due to uneven desert terrain.
Desert safaris are run using established routes and experienced guides who manage pacing, spacing, and safety throughout the ride. Clear briefings and controlled group movement help keep the experience organised rather than chaotic.
Having direct access to vehicles and desert operations allows trips to run daily with consistent standards. The focus stays on riding time, simple cultural context, and straightforward logistics from hotel pick-up to return.
No previous quad biking experience is required. All participants receive a safety briefing and a short test drive before the safari begins to ensure they are comfortable controlling the quad.
Guides ride with the group and manage the pace throughout, making this suitable for first-time riders as well as those with some experience.
Quads are ridden individually unless otherwise specified on the day. Each rider controls their own vehicle after the test drive and briefing.
If you wish to ride as a passenger or have specific requirements, it’s best to confirm availability in advance.
The route focuses on distance and scenery rather than technical riding. Terrain includes sand and firm desert tracks, with the pace adjusted to the group’s ability.
This keeps the experience accessible while still offering a proper desert ride rather than short loops near the base.
You’ll stop at a Bedouin settlement for a rest break, tea, and a short camel ride. This is a simple visit intended to break up the ride and offer basic cultural context.
Time at the village is relaxed, but not long or commercialised. It’s a short stop before continuing the safari.
The camel ride is short and takes place around the village area. It’s designed as a brief experience rather than a long journey.
Participation is optional, and you can choose to rest instead if preferred.
Transfers are included for hotels within Hurghada and are timed to fit the safari schedule.
Pick-ups from areas outside Hurghada are available for an additional fee, payable locally.
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for dusty conditions and closed shoes with good grip. Sunglasses and a scarf or face covering are recommended to protect against sand.
Helmets are typically provided at the station as part of the safety setup.
Age and height restrictions may apply depending on local regulations and vehicle size. Children are not permitted to ride quads independently.
If travelling with children, it’s best to check eligibility and passenger options before booking.
National Park fees are not included and are payable locally per person. These fees support access to protected desert areas.
Optional extras, tips, or extended transfers are not included unless stated.
Desert conditions are generally predictable, but routes or timings may be adjusted if needed for safety.
If conditions prevent the safari from running as planned, alternatives or rescheduling options will be discussed locally.
