What is SSI?

Scuba Schools International (SSI) is a global scuba training agency that certifies recreational divers, dive professionals and a wide range of specialty ratings. Training follows a clear progression from first pool sessions through Open Water, Advanced Adventurer and stress and rescue programmes, with digital learning for theory at many centres.

SSI certification cards are recognised at dive centres internationally. Standards are set by SSI; local centres choose sites, boats, kit and holiday pacing. That is why two Open Water courses can feel different even though the qualification name is the same.

Choosing a course

Match the course to your experience and goals. Open Water is the usual first certification; Advanced Diver and specialties such as Wreck Diver expect solid buoyancy and recent diving. If you trained with another agency, leave a comment when you book so the centre can confirm crossover or refresher needs.
