No experience is required to take part in this activity. The session is designed to suit complete beginners as well as those who have ridden before, with trainers adjusting the pace and level of guidance depending on your confidence.
Before setting off, you’ll be given a short introduction to riding basics, including how to sit, hold the reins, and control your horse. Throughout the ride, instructors stay nearby to offer help if needed, so you’re never left unsure about what to do.
Children can take part, as the experience is designed to be gentle and easygoing. The horses used are trained and accustomed to riders of different ages, and the pace is kept steady to ensure comfort and safety.
Younger participants are supported closely by guides, who can lead the horse if needed. This makes it a suitable option for families looking to share an outdoor activity together without it being too demanding.
Comfortable clothing is recommended, ideally something lightweight that allows you to move easily. Long trousers are often preferred to avoid rubbing against the saddle during the ride.
Closed shoes are important for safety and comfort while riding. It’s also a good idea to bring sunglasses and sun protection, as much of the route is in open areas with little shade.
Part of the experience includes riding close to the shoreline, and depending on conditions and your confidence, you may be able to ride into shallow water. This adds a different feel to the session compared to standard riding routes.
If you’d prefer to stay on dry ground, that’s completely fine as well. The guides can adjust the route slightly to match your preference, ensuring you feel comfortable throughout.
The session is split between desert riding and time near the sea, giving you a balanced experience across different landscapes. Each section is roughly an hour, though this can vary slightly depending on the group and pace.
This structure allows you to first build confidence on firmer ground before moving towards softer sand and the coastline. It keeps the ride varied without making it feel rushed.
Yes, helmets are included as part of the experience and are provided for all participants. Safety equipment is checked before the ride begins to ensure everything fits properly.
Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended and forms part of the safety approach followed throughout the session. The guides will help you adjust it if needed before you set off.
