Got your card already? This boat day pairs two reef dives with deck time, kit issue and a guide in the water, plus hotel pickup and return in Hurghada. Bring your certification and logbook, and allow about eight hours door to door for a proper dive day rather than squeezing tanks around other plans.
Kit-up on deck covers hand signals, equalising tips and buddy checks before you enter the water. Certified divers pair with a guide for two reef stops at depths matched to your logbook, with surface intervals to rest and check kit between dives. Tanks, BCD and weights are issued on the boat, so you arrive with swim kit and leave the heavy gear to the crew.
Between descents you rest on board, hydrate and watch the coast while the crew prep the next site. A meal on board or at a desert stop splits the active time and gives you shade between legs. If visibility drops or swell builds, the captain may swap to a closer reef so you still get safe bottom time rather than forcing an exposed site. Surface intervals include time to eat on board before the second dive, so you are not hungry underwater.
The Hurghada hotel belt runs along Egypt's mid-Red Sea shoreline, with marinas and desert bases both within easy reach. Offshore reefs and island runs start at the jetty rather than from the hotel beach.
Hotel pickup covers the main Hurghada resort belt, though traffic along the coastal road can stretch collection windows on busy mornings. Be ready a few minutes early at reception, eat breakfast before an early departure, and give your hotel name when you book so the driver finds the right gate.
You need a recognised scuba certification such as PADI Open Water or equivalent. Bring your certification card and logbook if you have them. You should be comfortable diving from a boat in open water.
Wear swimwear under a cover-up, bring a towel and sun protection, and eat breakfast before pickup. Soft shoes that can get wet help on the swim ladder, and a dry bag keeps phones off wet decks.
Included transfers mean you are not hunting taxis or marina timings on activity morning. Local crews know the routes, reefs and marks they use week in, week out through the season.
Lunch on board or at a stop breaks up the hours on the water and keeps the group together. Say dietary needs when you book so the kitchen or crew can try to match them.
We'll collect you from your Hurghada hotel and take you to the marina. Be ready in the pickup window with swim kit, certification card and a towel. On the boat the crew set up your personal equipment box and talk through the two dive stops.
At the first reef your dive guide leads a certified dive at a site chosen for the morning conditions. Watch your air, stay with your buddy and enjoy coral walls and tropical fish in clear Red Sea water.
Lunch is served on board between water sessions. Rest in the shade, drink water, and snorkel from the boat if you want surface time before the second tank.
A second dive site follows, sea state allowing. After the last session you cruise back to Hurghada and transfer to your hotel. The whole day is about eight hours door to door.
Yes. This is a certified diver day with two tank dives, not a try-dive or course. You should hold a recognised qualification such as PADI Open Water or equivalent and be comfortable diving from a boat.
Bring your certification card and logbook if you have them. Say if your last dive was a while ago so the guide can pace the first descent.
Yes. Round-trip collection from hotels in the Hurghada area is part of this day. Give your hotel name when you book so the driver can find the right gate, and be ready in the window you are given.
Build the whole eight-hour shape into your day rather than planning a late dinner immediately afterwards. Arriving late at reception cuts into time at the reefs.
A freshly prepared lunch is served on board between water sessions. Say any dietary needs when you confirm your place so the kitchen can try to match them.
Carry extra water and a small snack for the wait at pickup if you eat breakfast early. Soft drinks beyond what is served may be extra on the boat.
The day uses two dive sites chosen for the morning sea state. Exact reefs change with conditions. Between dives there is time to snorkel, sit on deck or rest in the shade.
Stay with your buddy and dive guide on the tank sessions. Keep the boat in sight when you snorkel.
Yes. Non-divers travelling with certified guests can enjoy two snorkel sessions at the same sites rather than kitting up for tanks. They still get hotel collection and lunch on board.
Book the correct participant type when you reserve so the crew knows who needs scuba kit and who stays at the surface.
Yes. Boat kit covers the scuba unit for the two dives. Bring your own mask if you prefer the fit, and any personal accessories you normally dive with.
Your personal equipment box is set up before the briefing. Check regulators and BCD fit before the first site.
Swimwear, a rash vest or t-shirt, a towel and dry clothes for the ride back are the practical kit. Sunscreen, a hat and a long sleeve for the deck matter on an eight-hour day.
A dry bag keeps phones off wet decks. Soft shoes that can get wet help on the swim ladder.
The day needs a workable sea. If the outer reefs are too rough, the crew may switch to closer sites or hold the departure. You will be told as early as they can once morning conditions are clear.
Have a loose plan for the rest of the day so a weather hold does not wreck the whole morning.
About eight hours including collection. The day typically starts around 8:30 AM and returns to the harbour around 4:00 PM, though exact timings shift with pickup routes and sea conditions.
Keep the whole day free. A late appearance at reception shortens time on the water because the boat leaves with the group.
Groups run from 1 to 15 participants for a more personalised day on the water. Smaller groups mean more attention from the dive guide on deck and at the sites.
If you are booking for a private group, say so when you confirm so the crew can plan tank rotations and deck space.
