Hurghada desert meets the Red Sea on a horse ride that takes you across open sand and down into the shallows at the beach. About two hours in the saddle is the advertised loop, with hotel collection available if you want a transfer, or an option without collection if you prefer to reach the yard yourself. Instructors stay with the group for the whole ride.
Open sand behind Hurghada hotel strip is where the ride begins, guide leading the group at walk through pale desert while the Red Sea sits just beyond the dunes. Stirrups, reins and a steady seat come quickly as the line finds its rhythm on soft ground. Two hours in the saddle gives time to settle without rushing.
Cool shallows reach the horses' knees as the route turns toward the beach and the line wades into shallow water. Sun on your shoulders and splash at the horses' hooves mark the sea stretch, usually a gentle wade rather than a swim. Back on sand the loop returns to the yard with wet boots and warm desert air on the same ride.
Hurghada desert sits just inland of the hotel strip, with pale sand running towards a beach where horses can walk in the shallows. The ride uses both, so you get inland ground and a look at the Red Sea from the saddle. You leave the resort belt for open sand, then return to the same hotel strip after untacking.
Collection covers the usual Hurghada resort belt when you choose the transfer. Distances between hotels mean pickup windows can stretch, so be ready early and wear clothes that can get wet on the sea stretch. Once you are back on the coast, hotel beaches and the Red Sea sit close to most properties, which is why many guests keep the rest of the day for swimming or a quieter afternoon by the water.
Beginners are welcome. Sitting a walk for two hours, including a stretch in shallow water, and following simple instructions from the ground is all that is asked. If you have never ridden, say so at the yard so you are given a quieter horse and a place next to a guide. Two hours is a long first sit, so stretch at any halt you are offered, and say if you need to walk beside the horse for a stretch rather than pushing through discomfort in silence.
Long trousers and closed shoes that can get wet work well. A towel and sun protection are worth bringing, and keep the rest of the morning or afternoon free so the three-hour window is not squeezed around other plans. Mention ages when you confirm your place; very young children are not a fit for a two-hour desert-and-sea loop. Open desert and a beach in Hurghada can be very hot in the middle of the day, so carry water for the wait and use sunscreen on the backs of hands as well as face.
Hotel collection is available if you want the day kept simple from the hotel door. The route mixes desert and shallows on the same two-hour ride, with instructors staying with the group for the whole loop. Horse, tack and a helmet come from the yard, so you do not need to bring riding kit.
The pace follows the least experienced rider, and first-timers are placed next to a guide. You can also pick the option without transfer if you already have a way to the yard. The sea stretch is shallow wading beside the beach, not a deep swim, which keeps the loop accessible for a first sit.
We’ll pick you up from your Hurghada hotel and transfer you to the horse riding center. Share your hotel name in advance and be ready at the agreed pickup point during the confirmed time window.
At the yard you are matched to a horse, fitted with a helmet, and shown how to mount. Tell the instructor your real experience so the line can be ordered safely. First-timers stay next to a guide rather than at the back of a fast group.
The loop starts on open desert behind the resort belt, then drops toward the beach where the horses walk into shallow water. Follow the guide on where the sea section runs. Walk is the default pace; a short trot may be offered if everyone is secure.
Back at the yard you dismount, return the helmet, and either take the transfer to your hotel or make your own way. Change into dry shoes if the sea stretch left you damp. Door to door the outing is about three hours when collection is used.
Hotel collection in the Hurghada area is available on this ride. Give your hotel name when you book so the driver can find the right gate, and be ready in the window you are given because traffic along the strip can slow the van.
There is also an option without transfer if you prefer to make your own way to the yard. Pick that on the form if you already have a car or a taxi plan, and allow time to reach the meeting point yourself.
About two hours in the saddle is the advertised ride. Door to door, with collection, the outing sits closer to three hours. The extra time is transfer and briefing, not extra loops.
The route mixes desert sand with a stretch into shallow water at the beach. Pace follows the group. Walks are the default; a short trot may happen if everyone is secure.
No. this outing is a daytime sun-and-sea loop. The sunrise horse ride from Hurghada is a separate product with an earlier start and its own price. Keep them split so you pick the light and the route you actually want.
Use this page if you want desert plus shallows later in the day. Use the sunrise listing if an early start on the coast is the point.
Beginners are expected. Tell the yard at the start so they match you to a quieter horse and put a guide close in the line. You will be shown how to hold the reins and how the horse moves off on sand and in shallow water.
Two hours is a long first sit. Stretch at any halt you are offered, and say if you need to walk beside the horse for a stretch rather than pushing through discomfort in silence.
Long trousers and closed shoes that can get wet are the practical kit, because the sea stretch puts water around the horses' legs. Shorts and flip-flops leave skin against the saddle and stirrups.
Helmets come from the yard. Tie long hair back. Bring a towel and a dry pair of shoes for the ride back to the hotel. Sunglasses with a strap stop them bouncing off at a trot.
Share ages when you confirm your place. The yard decides on the day whether a child can sit their own horse or needs to share, based on height, confidence and how the horses are going.
Very young children are not a fit for a two-hour desert-and-sea loop. Do not assume a lead-rein pony is waiting unless the team have said so.
You ride through the desert and into the water of a beach. Expect shallow wading rather than a deep swim, and follow the guide on where the horses are allowed to go.
Sea state and the beach in use can change the water section. If the shore is busy or the swell is awkward, more of the loop may stay on sand. The crew will say on the day.
This is horse only. It is not the combined horse, semi-submarine and parasailing day from Hurghada, and it is not a camel safari. Choose this outing if you only want time in the saddle on sand and in the shallows.
If you want bikes or boats in the same outing, look at those separate products rather than expecting them to be added here.
Open desert and a beach in Hurghada can be fierce in the middle of the day. Carry water for the wait, wear a layer that covers shoulders, and use sunscreen on the backs of hands as well as face.
The yard may shift start times in peak heat. Follow the window you are given rather than arriving on your own clock. Shade is limited once you leave the yard.
Say so as soon as you reach the yard. A quieter horse and a guide at your shoulder are the usual answer, and you can spend a few extra minutes on the ground before you mount.
You can also decide at the last moment that sitting on is not for you. Tell the instructor rather than freezing in the saddle. The rest of the group will continue the loop; you would wait at the yard for the return.
