Horse Swim and Desert Ride in Hurghada

Desert sand and Red Sea shallows meet on one guided horse loop from Hurghada, with hotel collection included. About three hours is spent in the saddle. With transfer the whole outing sits closer to four hours door to door.

📋 Key Details

• Duration: About 3 hours on horseback, around 4 hours including collection
• Group Size: 1 to 15
• Meeting Point: Hotel collection in the Hurghada area
• Format: Desert ride plus a guided stretch in the shallows

🐎 What to Expect

Pale desert sand stretches ahead as your horse picks up a steady walk inland from the yard, with the guide setting the line pace to match the least experienced rider. Helmets are fitted and quieter horses are matched to first-timers before the loop begins.

Cool Red Sea water rises around the horses' legs on the beach stretch, a memorable moment where desert and sea meet from the saddle. The route may stay on sand if the shore is busy or the swell is awkward, but the three hours in the saddle keep moving at walk with an occasional short trot for confident riders.

📍 Location

Hurghada desert sits just inland of the hotel strip, with pale sand running toward a beach where horses can walk into the sea. The ride uses both, so you get inland ground and time in the shallows from the saddle on the same loop. Shade is limited once you leave the yard, and open desert plus a beach can be fierce in the middle of the day. The yard may shift start times in peak heat, so follow the window you are given rather than arriving on your own clock.

Collection covers the usual Hurghada resort belt. Distances between hotels mean pickup windows can stretch, so be ready early and wear clothes that can get wet on the sea stretch. Give your hotel name when you book so the driver can find the right gate. Traffic along the strip can slow the van, and Arriving late at reception cuts into time in the saddle because the transfer sits inside the four-hour door-to-door time. You return to the same hotel strip you left.

✅ Prerequisites

Beginners are welcome. You should be able to sit a walk for about three hours, including a stretch in the sea, and follow simple instructions from the ground. If you have never ridden, say so at the yard so you are given a quieter horse and a place next to a guide. Three hours is a long first sit, so stretch at any halt you are offered, and say if you need to walk beside the horse rather than pushing through discomfort in silence.

Wear long trousers and closed shoes that can get wet; shorts and flip-flops leave skin against the saddle and stirrups. Helmets come from the yard. Bring a towel, sun protection and a dry pair of shoes for the ride back to the hotel. Keep the rest of the morning or afternoon free so the four-hour window is not squeezed around other plans. Eat before you leave the hotel, because lunch is not included and there is no lunch stop on the loop. If you are nervous of horses, say so as soon as you reach the yard so a quieter horse and a guide at your shoulder can be arranged.

⭐ Why Choose Us

Hotel collection keeps the day simple from the hotel door. The route mixes desert and a sea stretch on the same ride, with instructors staying with the group for the whole loop. The advertised three hours are spent in the saddle rather than split across other activities. Pickup covers the usual Hurghada resort belt, so most hotel guests can join without arranging a separate taxi to the yard.

First-timers are matched to quieter horses and placed next to a guide, which keeps a mixed group usable on a long sit. You return to the same hotel strip you left, which makes a four-hour window easier to plan around a holiday. If the shore is busy or the swell is awkward, more of the loop may stay on sand rather than forcing the water section. That is a better outcome than a rigid route that ignores the beach on the day.
