Fantastic time!! I’ve been wanting to get my open water license for a while and the team at Oyster Diving were super helpful and supportive! I would fully recommend!

This course is an exceptional opportunity for those looking to elevate their freediving skills and gain a deeper understanding of the sport. Designed to fulfil your desire for personal growth, this course focuses on refining your techniques and increasing your capabilities in a supportive environment. With an emphasis on learning about your body's performance during apnea, you will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
The course comprises three main elements designed to enhance your freediving proficiency. Initially, you will engage in Knowledge Development through the PADI Freediver Touch app, which offers videos, quizzes, and comprehensive reviews to facilitate your understanding of advanced techniques and equipment. This independent study enables you to grasp the theoretical aspects of freediving at your own pace before the practical sessions commence. Your instructor will be readily available to address any questions you may have.
Following the theory, the course includes a Confined Water Session where you will learn essential stretching and relaxation techniques while refining your static and dynamic apnea skills. The goals for this session are ambitious yet achievable, with a target static apnea time of 2 minutes, 30 seconds, and a dynamic apnea distance of 50 metres.
Finally, you will participate in Open Water Sessions, where you will practice the Free Immersion (FIM) and Constant Weight (CWT) dives. This practical experience allows you to apply what you have learned in the pool to real-world conditions. You will also receive training on buddy procedures and rescue techniques, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of safety in the water. The target depth for the Constant Weight freedive is 20 metres.
For the confined water sessions, there are various heated swimming pool locations available, including Brighton on Sunday mornings and South East London & Kent on Sunday mornings.
For the open water component, join group trips to Malta, where you can dive in gorgeous blue waters, or visit Mercers Country Park, an exclusive inland diving lake during the summer months.
To enrol in the Advanced Freediver course, participants must be at least 15 years old and possess a PADI Freediver certification or a qualifying certification from another freediving organisation.
Additionally, you must complete a PADI Medical History Form, the PADI Freediver Program Release of Liability form, and the PADI Freediver Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding to ensure your readiness for the course.
Opting for this course ensures you receive high-quality instruction from experienced PADI professionals who are fully insured and adhere to UK HSE regulations. With small group sizes, we provide personalised attention to each participant, enhancing the experience.
The course includes all necessary equipment hire for both pool and open water sessions, as well as the PADI certification fee.
