A fun and active outdoor option for younger players, this kids paintball session is designed specifically for ages 8–10. Using lightweight, low-impact markers and full protective gear, it’s a safe, exciting experience ideal for birthday parties and group days out.
Sessions are set within the same 50-acre woodland site used by older players, giving kids the thrill of a full-size environment with the added safety of specially designed equipment. The JT Z200 Splatmaster markers are lightweight and easy to handle, firing smaller .50 calibre paintballs at reduced velocity. This makes the game accessible and safe for younger players while still delivering all the excitement of a team-based paintball session.
Each booking begins with a safety briefing led by experienced marshals, who stay with the group throughout the session to guide gameplay and keep things running smoothly. All paintballs are included, and there’s no need to bring any gear — digital camo uniforms and full head-and-face protection are provided. Kids get to enjoy a series of fast-paced games in the main arenas, tailored to the group’s ability and energy levels. Sessions run in the morning or afternoon and are perfect for birthdays and small group events.
The session takes place at a 50-acre site just off the A281 in Henfield (BN6 9EA), surrounded by peaceful woodland but easily accessible by car. There’s free on-site parking and a clearly signed check-in point where staff will welcome your group and help everyone get kitted up.
Game zones are built within the woodland using natural and man-made cover, creating a varied setting for the games. Although this is a kids session, they’ll still get the feel of playing in a proper paintball environment, with plenty of space to move and explore. The site also has a safe zone for gearing up and breaks, along with toilets and shop facilities.
This session is open to children aged 8 to 10 only. No prior experience is necessary, and everything they need is included. Players should arrive dressed for outdoor activity, with trainers or sturdy shoes recommended.
Parents or guardians are welcome to remain on site, although only players and marshals are allowed on the field. Safety rules will be explained to all participants before play begins. Sessions require a minimum of 8 players to run.
The paintball centre has been recognised nationally for its facilities and service, winning Site of the Year in 2019. The same high standards apply to the kids’ sessions, with age-appropriate gear maintained daily by on-site technicians and games led by trained marshals who specialise in working with younger players.
Flexible session times, all-inclusive pricing, and the use of professional game zones make this an easy and memorable option for birthday celebrations or group activities. The team takes pride in ensuring each child feels supported, safe, and involved from the moment they arrive to the final whistle.
Playing in a live woodland means you should wear old but comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Although overalls are provided, it’s best to come prepared for mud and dirt. Supportive footwear, such as ankle boots or trainers, is important to protect your feet and ankles on uneven ground.
For safety reasons, only the equipment provided by the organisers is permitted during play. This includes paintballs, which means bringing your own is not allowed. All gear is maintained to high standards to ensure fairness and player protection throughout the session.
Safety is the top priority during all children’s paintball sessions. Each player is provided with full head and face protection, including a head shield and goggles specifically designed for younger participants. The markers used fire low-impact .50 calibre paintballs, which are smaller and gentler than standard paintballs, reducing the risk of injury while still allowing for fun and competitive play.
Additionally, experienced marshals conduct a thorough safety briefing before the session begins, explaining the rules and demonstrating correct marker handling. These marshals remain with the group throughout the entire session, supervising gameplay closely to ensure all safety guidelines are followed and to assist players as needed.
Bringing your own food and drink is allowed, but all rubbish must be taken away with you to keep the site clean. For safety reasons, BBQs or any other heating devices are strictly prohibited because of the fire risk. Alcohol is also not permitted anywhere on site.
The venue aims to provide a safe and enjoyable environment, so respecting these rules helps maintain this for everyone attending.
Children use the JT Z200 Splatmaster paintball markers, which are lightweight and designed for younger players. These markers fire low-impact paintballs that break easily on contact, minimising discomfort while still providing a realistic paintball experience. Digital camouflage uniforms are provided to keep children comfortable and help protect their clothing.
All protective gear is maintained regularly to ensure it meets high safety standards. The equipment setup means kids can focus on having fun without worrying about the weight or handling of their markers, making it accessible for first-timers as well as those with previous experience.
Paintball sessions take place regardless of the weather conditions. If rain is expected, it’s advisable to bring waterproof clothing and wear supportive footwear suitable for woodland terrain. Being prepared will help you stay comfortable and enjoy the session.
In hot weather, marshals trained in heat safety monitor the players closely, ensuring regular breaks and opportunities to stay hydrated. The priority is always to keep everyone safe and comfortable no matter what the weather does.
While parents and guardians are welcome to stay on site during the session, safety regulations prevent spectators from entering the playing field. This is to ensure the marshals can focus fully on supervising the players and maintaining a safe environment without distractions.
There are designated safe zones and waiting areas nearby where adults can relax and observe. Staff are always available to answer any questions and provide updates about the session’s progress if needed.
Games are designed to be fun and engaging while remaining safe and manageable for 8 to 10-year-olds. The marshals lead children through a series of simple, easy-to-understand game scenarios in the main gaming arenas, encouraging teamwork and friendly competition.
The pace and rules are adjusted according to the group’s energy and skill levels, ensuring everyone can take part without feeling overwhelmed. Marshals remain close by to offer guidance, manage fair play, and create a positive experience for all participants.
