This full-day tour combines mountain landscapes, Berber culture, waterfalls and traditional markets on an easy escape from Marrakech into the Ourika Valley.
The route follows the Ourika River past fruit orchards, vegetable terraces, palm trees and small hamlets, with a stop at a women's argan oil cooperative to see traditional production methods up close. The highlight is Setti Fatma, famous for its cascading waterfalls, where a short walk brings you to the falls to relax, take photos or cool off in the mountain water, before lunch at a riverside restaurant with valley views.
The High Atlas Mountains are reached in under an hour's drive from Marrakech, making the Ourika Valley one of the most accessible mountain escapes near the city. The valley follows the Ourika River south from Marrakech towards Setti Fatma, gaining altitude gradually through terraced farmland and small villages.
On Mondays the route passes a roadside Berber souk where locals trade fresh produce, spices and handmade goods, adding an authentic market stop to the day.
No trekking experience or particular fitness level is required. The day involves gentle walking only, including a short walk to the Setti Fatma waterfalls, with plenty of free time built in to relax by the river or explore.
