Climb to Tedli Atlas Summit on a full-day hike from Marrakech through Berber villages and high mountain trails. An expert local guide leads the way to panoramic views of Jbel Toubkal and the High Atlas, with a traditional Moroccan lunch on the descent.
Your day begins with morning pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. The scenic drive into the High Atlas takes you to Imlil at about 1,740 m, the trailhead for your adventure. After meeting your mountain guide, you set off on foot through the Berber villages of Ait Souka and Tamatert, following well-used paths that climb steadily toward Tedli Atlas Summit.
The summit section rewards effort with wide views across the High Atlas, including Jbel Toubkal and the valleys below. Your guide sets a steady pace with breaks for water and photos. After reaching the high point, you descend to Tamatert where a traditional Moroccan lunch is served before the return drive to Marrakech in the evening.
Expect a long walking day on rocky mountain trails with significant ascent and descent. Walking poles are helpful if you use them regularly. The group stays together under guide supervision throughout.
The hike runs in the Imlil valley, the classic gateway to the High Atlas south of Marrakech. Terraced fields, walnut groves and Amazigh villages line the lower trails before the path opens onto higher slopes with big mountain views.
Tedli Summit sits above the familiar Toubkal approach valleys, so clear days offer a memorable panorama of North Africa's highest peaks and the rugged country beyond the Marrakech plain.
You should be comfortable walking for six to seven hours on mountain paths with a daypack, including sustained uphill and downhill sections. Prior hill-walking experience is helpful, though no technical climbing skills are required.
A reasonable level of fitness matters more than speed. Tell the team about injuries, heart or respiratory conditions, or concerns about altitude before you travel so the guide can plan a safe pace.
Routes are led by local mountain guides who know these trails year round and understand how heat, cold mornings and rocky ground affect different walkers. Briefings are practical, groups stay small, and the focus stays on a well-paced day rather than rushing the summit.
From Marrakech pickup to the final drop-off, transport, guiding and lunch are organised as one package so you can travel light and enjoy the trail.
You will be collected from your hotel or riad in Marrakech on the morning of the activity. Please share your accommodation details when you book so the driver can find you easily.
