Our Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is tailored for individuals who may find themselves in situations requiring immediate first aid assistance, whether in the workplace or in day-to-day life. This comprehensive one-day training equips participants with essential skills and the confidence to respond effectively in emergencies.
Throughout the day, participants engage in a series of dynamic and hands-on activities designed to impart essential first aid skills. Starting with an overview of emergency situations, learners delve into the fundamentals of CPR and basic life support techniques.
They then progress to mastering wound management, bleeding control, and shock management. Practical scenarios simulate real-life incidents, allowing participants to apply their knowledge in a supportive environment. Additionally, instruction on the proper use of first aid equipment, including defibrillators, enhances participants' ability to respond effectively to a wide range of emergencies.
Our courses take place at our headquarters in Llangollen, where we provide a conducive learning environment. However, for your convenience, we offer the flexibility to conduct training sessions at your workplace for teams, ensuring minimal disruption to your operations.
No prior first aid knowledge is required to enrol in the EFAW course, making it accessible to individuals at all levels.
At our centre, we go beyond traditional training methods. Our experienced trainers are committed to delivering engaging and practical learning experiences, ensuring participants leave feeling confident in their ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
Additionally, our competitive pricing and flexible group discounts make quality first-aid training accessible to all.
We run this course at our HQ in Llangollen however we can run this at your place of work if you have a team and it is more convenient.
Primarily this is a course for the workplace, however, it is also suitable for those just wanting to learn some first aid skills.
It is designed for organisations whose first aid assessment has identified a requirement for someone to hold a first aid at work qualification.
If your assessment identifies a requirement for additional first aid training (e.g. due to having employees with a medical condition), we recommend the three day first aid at work course which teaches the skills to recognise and treat a wider range of injuries and medical conditions. You can book this course at the bottom of this page.
There is a minimum of six contact hours for this course. We typically run this course from 0930-15.30
Assessment is done by continuous observation and questioning throughout the course.
We will cover a huge range of common medical emergencies but the core of the session is focused on:
