Discover the excitement of whitewater kayaking with our 90-minute adventure. Perfect for beginners, this session provides expert instruction and all necessary equipment to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Paddle through the rapids of the River Dee, just outside our centre in Llangollen, for an exciting adventure on the water.
After checking in at reception, you'll meet your instructor, who will provide a full safety briefing and equip you with all the necessary gear, including a wetsuit, buoyancy aid, and helmet. Once changed, you’ll head straight to the river, conveniently accessible directly from our site.
Your instructor will guide you through basic kayaking skills, ensuring you feel confident on the water before venturing onto the rapids. Along the way, you'll learn key paddling techniques and safety tips while enjoying the challenges of white water. The session is designed to improve your skills and keep the experience engaging and safe. After about an hour on the river, you'll return to the centre to change and reflect on your adventure.
The session takes place at our privately owned section of the River Dee in Llangollen, spanning a 300-metre stretch perfect for re-paddling the rapids.
Our on-site facilities make it convenient to access the water directly from the centre. In rare instances of high river levels, alternative arrangements will be made, and you'll be informed by your instructor.
No prior kayaking experience is required, and non-swimmers are welcome. Our buoyancy aids ensure everyone stays afloat, and our instructors will prioritise your safety at all times.
Participants must bring swimwear, sturdy shoes that can get wet, and a towel.

We are proud to have a private section of the River Dee, offering exclusive access to some of the best white water kayaking opportunities in the region. Since our founding in 2015, we’ve built a reputation for delivering memorable experiences that prioritise both enjoyment and safety.
This session is run entirely on our site. We own the riverbanks for a 300-metre stretch and can re-paddle rapids if we like.
Occasionally due to high river levels we may run this session elsewhere, you will be informed of everything by your instructor.
The session is 90 minutes long which accounts for time getting changed, kitted up and safety briefings.
It normally equates to about an hour on the river.
You do not need any previous experience for this session.
This is suitable for anyone aged 8 or over. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
We can organise sessions for groups of children but it helps to know in advance so we can make special provisions.
It is not the aim of the session to capsize but it may happen – you will be given instructions on what to do if this does happen and our instructors will get sorted and kayaking again right away.
We sell waterproof phone cases which are suitable to keep your phone safe and dry. Your instructor may take some photos if they have the opportunity.
