A half-day of climbing and abseiling in North Wales is perfect for those new to climbing or looking to transition from indoor to outdoor challenges. With personalised guidance and a range of climbing routes, this session offers something for everyone, from learning new techniques to simply enjoying the activity at your own pace.
Your session begins with an introduction to climbing and abseiling, tailored to suit your ability and goals. Whether it’s your first time climbing or you’ve already practised indoors, routes will be selected to gradually build your confidence and skills. With support from an experienced instructor, you’ll have the chance to climb as much as you wish, learning techniques and improving with every ascent.
To round off the session, participants have the option to descend via an exciting 75ft abseil. This part is entirely up to you, and our team will ensure you feel supported and safe throughout. The focus is always on enjoying the activity in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
The session starts at Berwyn Street in Llangollen (LL20 8AD), where we will meet before heading to one of the local crags, such as Trevor Quarry.
You may need to drive to the venue, so let us know if that’s an issue in advance. These crags are easily accessible and provide a fantastic setting for your climbing adventure.
There is no requirement for previous climbing experience, and participants will be taught all the basics, including how to belay.
If you’re unsure about heights, you can opt to stay within your comfort zone at all times. Please wear sturdy footwear suitable for climbing and bring weather-appropriate clothing, water, and sunscreen.
Our instructors are passionate about outdoor adventures and bring years of knowledge to every session, ensuring a safe and enjoyable time for all. From complete beginners to seasoned climbers, each participant is given the attention and guidance needed to achieve their goals.
Operating since 2015, we’ve grown to become one of the largest adventure providers in North Wales. With access to private venues and local expertise, we deliver high-quality activities tailored to meet the needs of individuals and groups alike.
No prior climbing experience is required. The session is suitable for complete beginners as well as those transitioning from indoor climbing to outdoor settings.
Our instructors will provide guidance and training tailored to your ability and experience level.
All necessary safety and climbing equipment, including harnesses, helmets, and ropes, will be provided.
You’re welcome to bring your own harness or helmet, but these will need to be inspected and approved by your instructor before use.
Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing (e.g., warm layers or waterproofs, depending on the forecast) and sturdy footwear suitable for climbing.
Walking boots are not ideal, so opt for trainers or climbing shoes. Bring enough water, sunscreen, and snacks if needed.
Safety is our top priority, and sessions will go ahead in most weather conditions.
However, in the event of severe weather that could impact safety, the session may be rescheduled. We will notify you as early as possible if this happens.
Yes, the minimum age for participants is 7 years old.
Our instructors are skilled at ensuring sessions are enjoyable and safe for younger participants.
Group sizes are limited to a maximum of 10 participants per instructor to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
If you prefer a private session, please contact us via the adventuro chat below, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
Absolutely. Climbing and abseiling are "challenge by choice" activities, meaning you can choose how far you’d like to push yourself.
Instructors will never pressure you to climb or abseil higher than you feel comfortable with.
Spectators are welcome at most venues, but please let us know in advance so we can confirm it’s suitable.
Keep in mind that crags can sometimes be in uneven or remote areas, which may not be accessible for everyone.
