Itinerary
The day begins with a 2-hour theory session, covering essential freediving concepts, such as:
- Introduction to AIDA and the freediving code of conduct
- Understanding the breathing cycle for freediving and equalisation techniques
- Basics of safety and freediving disciplines
- Meditation techniques to manage your breathing and remain calm underwater
Following a break, the 3-hour practical session in the heated pool will focus on:
- Breath-hold exercises to improve lung capacity
- Duck diving and finning techniques
- An introduction to free immersion techniques
- Buddy safety and surface rescues, including handling blackouts and LMC scenarios
By the end of the day, you'll have a foundational understanding of freediving and the skills to continue your training with confidence.
Location
Training takes place at a heated indoor pool located at Unit 5, Industrial Park, Ford Rd, Chertsey.
The facility provides a comfortable and controlled environment, ideal for practising your freediving techniques without the need for a wetsuit.
Prerequisites
Participants must be able to swim 100m non-stop and be at least 18 years old (or 16-17 with parental consent).
Completion of a AIDA Medical Form and Liability Release is required before the course. This will be sent to you after booking.
