AIDA Advanced Freediver Course (AIDA 3)

The AIDA *** Advanced Freediver Course is an intermediate-level programme designed to build on the skills acquired in the AIDA ** course. This course equips recreational freedivers with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely dive with or without a guideline. It aims to develop your ability to independently plan and participate in freediving activities with similarly experienced freedive buddies.

• Duration: 3 days
• Prerequisites: AIDA 2 Freediver certification or equivalent, participation in 5 AIDA ranked competitions within the last 6 years, AIDA Medical Form, and Liability Release

Key Skills

The AIDA 3 Freediving Course cover the following skills: 

• Advanced freediving techniques
• Free falling and Frenzel equalising
• Using training tables
• Safety procedures and risk management
• Planning and organising freediving activities
• Understanding the risks of pressure changes and how to mitigate them

Course Breakdown

Theory:

In-depth coverage of intermediate-level freediving disciplines, anatomy, techniques, and safety procedures.

Day One:

• Location: Hatfield Swim Centre, Lemsford Rd, Hatfield AL10 0DH
• Theory overview and discussion.
• Pool practicals, safety drills, and assessments.
• Please bring a bottle of water and a packed lunch.

Day Two:

• Location: Hatfield Swim Centre, Lemsford Rd, Hatfield AL10 0DH
• Continued theory and skill development.
• Pool and confined water practicals.
• Please bring a bottle of water and a packed lunch.

Day Three:

• Location: Wraysbury Dive Centre, Station Rd, Wraysbury TW19 5ND
• Final theory review and advanced skills practice.
• Open water practicals focusing on depth and safety.

By the end of the course, you will be proficient in advanced freediving techniques and safety procedures, ready to dive with confidence.

Prerequisites

• Minimum Age: 18 (or 16 with parent/guardian consent)
• Completion of AIDA ** Freediver course or equivalent
• Participation in 5 AIDA ranked competitions within the last 6 years with results of at least 35m CWT, 3:45min static, and 75m DYN
• Completed AIDA Medical Form and Liability Release
