The trip begins and ends in Jokkmokk, a town located in Swedish Lapland. On the first day of the trip, the group will meet at 4pm at the accommodation in Jokkmokk. Jokkmokk is the starting point for your journey into Sarek National Park, which is accessible only by foot, adding to the sense of remoteness and the true wilderness experience.
To reach Jokkmokk, the most environmentally-friendly option is to travel by train to Boden or Murjek, followed by a bus connection to Jokkmokk. For those flying, you can travel via Stockholm to Luleå, Gällivare, Arvidsjaur, or Kiruna, then continue by bus and/or train to Jokkmokk. The transportation details will be provided with your booking to ensure a smooth journey to the meeting point.
Your stay will begin with two nights in comfortable hotel accommodation in Jokkmokk. The accommodation will offer a chance to rest, prepare for the hike, and meet fellow adventurers. Once the journey begins, however, the adventure turns to wild camping, with five nights spent in tents along the trail. The wild camping experience will allow you to immerse yourself fully in the wilderness, with no distractions from modern life.
The camping gear, including tents and cooking equipment, will be provided, and your guide will ensure you’re comfortable each night. Sleeping under the vast Arctic sky, you’ll have the opportunity to appreciate the true isolation and beauty of the environment.
This adventure is physically demanding and requires participants to be in good hiking condition. You should be capable of carrying a 12-15kg backpack and be prepared to hike up to 20km a day, sometimes through challenging and varied terrain.
Previous hiking experience is recommended, especially on uneven ground, and you should be comfortable with wild camping, including managing your own food and shelter. While the trip is designed to be a challenge, your guide will ensure a supportive atmosphere where you can go at your own pace.
