Before heading into the water, your session begins with a beach-based introduction covering surf safety, wave dynamics, and board positioning. Our instructors will guide you through paddling techniques and teach you how to pop up on the board, ensuring you have a solid foundation before tackling the waves.
Once in the water, you'll put these techniques into practice, with hands-on coaching to help you catch and ride waves. Instructors provide real-time feedback, helping you adjust your stance and balance to stay upright for longer. Whether you're looking to stand up for the first time or perfect your turns, our lessons are structured to help you progress while having fun.

No prior surfing experience is required. Just bring your enthusiasm, a towel, and swimwear – we’ll provide the rest, including wetsuits and high-quality surfboards.

You can bring your keys or phone to the beach as we have lockable waters edge storage (provided at your own risk, limited space for keys/phone and water bottle only).
Yes! We're one of the only surf schools in the Newquay area with private parking for our customers and definitely the most spacious. Our safe carpark overlooks the beautiful Watergate Bay.

For your surf lesson, you just need to bring a towel, flip flops and your swimwear.
If you can get changed into your swimwear before, it'll take the pressure off using the changing rooms.
Surfing is one of the few family activities in Newquay that's rarely affected by the weather. We use premium, warm wetsuits that work year round and have brand new heated changing rooms. As well as the Hang Out cafe for hot drinks afterwards.
The only time your lesson may be cancelled is if the winds are too high, the swell is too strong or there's heavy fog. If the beach has red flagged these, we'll contact you to rearrange or refund your surf lesson with as much notice as possible.
Luckily this only happens once or twice a season.
You should aim to get here 20 mins before your lesson.
If you're running late just let us know. Be aware that Cornwall can get very busy in the summer so it's best to leave early. When you get here, you can grab some food and drinks, and take in the view before your lesson starts.
