Take on two full days of guided trail riding as you travel from Surrey to Salisbury and back. This intermediate-level session is ideal for riders with some off-road experience who want to cover distance, tackle technical terrain, and enjoy great company. All gear and bikes are provided – just turn up ready to ride.
The two-day Salisbury ride starts with a meet and greet at the centre, where refreshments will be served. After a kit allocation, safety briefing and riding technique refresher, you'll head straight out onto the green roads. Day one covers around 120 miles, with a mix of gravel, dirt, muddy sections, and technical riding. The route is selected based on weather and rider experience, with expert instructors adjusting pace and lines to suit the group. You’ll stop for lunch before continuing the afternoon session, which often includes water crossings and narrow wooded trails. The day finishes with a check-in at the pre-arranged overnight accommodation.
On day two, you'll refuel with breakfast before setting off again, covering another 120 miles of off-road terrain and road sections as you make your way back to base. Expect a mixture of flowing byways and more challenging sections with ruts, cambers, or tighter navigation. Instructors are there to support you throughout and provide real-time coaching where needed. The final section of the ride includes a stop for another well-earned lunch, and then it’s back to the centre for a debrief, refreshment, and a chance to clean up. It’s a physically demanding weekend, but a rewarding one – with plenty of laughter, new skills, and proper trail riding mileage.
This ride begins at the trail riding base in Dorking, Surrey, surrounded by the North Downs and some of the best legal off-road riding routes in southern England. The area offers a brilliant variety of terrain, from forest singletrack and chalky descents to wide gravel fire roads and open countryside. The route to Salisbury includes parts of the Ridgeway and other ancient trails, giving you a chance to experience lesser-known green lanes across counties.
As the ride moves further west, the landscape shifts and offers new challenges. The second day returns via a different set of trails, ensuring you’re never riding the same section twice. The instructors have spent years curating the route and know the area well enough to adapt plans in real-time to match conditions and group ability.
Accommodation for the Saturday night is included and arranged in advance. Riders will stay in a comfortable hotel or pub accommodation close to the trail route. Rooms are shared unless otherwise arranged, and breakfast is provided.
Riders must hold a full motorcycle licence and be comfortable riding a manual motorbike. While previous off-road experience is ideal, confident road riders who are comfortable standing on the pegs and handling varied terrain are welcome. Minimum age is 25. Solo riders can book, and the session will run once the minimum of 3 riders is confirmed.
The instructors here didn’t set out to run trail riding trips – it developed naturally out of their passion for riding. After years of teaching road riders full time, they were looking for something to keep riding fun, and off-road trail riding quickly became a regular part of their own downtime. What started as personal trips to Morocco and regular UK green laning evolved into fully-supported riding experiences for others looking for the same buzz.
Since 2013, they’ve been guiding trail rides with a friendly, informal approach backed by years of experience. The team know how to balance challenge and safety, and they take pride in offering a well-organised, inclusive environment. Whether you’re getting back into off-road or want to test your skills over distance, this session is designed by riders, for riders – with proper bikes, top kit, and expert guidance that makes the most of every mile.
