Rapid recognition and response to anaphylaxis can save lives, and the Responding to Anaphylactic Reactions qualification provides the knowledge and practical skills to do so confidently. It covers both the safe use of adrenaline auto-injectors and broader first aid procedures, making it particularly useful for those caring for children or anyone at risk of severe allergic reactions.
Training begins with a detailed introduction to anaphylaxis, its potential risks, and the legal requirements surrounding the use of adrenaline. Practical exercises include familiarisation with different auto-injector types and learning when and how to administer them effectively.
Scenario-based exercises give hands-on experience in managing severe allergic reactions. You will practise recovery positions, CPR on adults and children, and the safe disposal of sharps. Emphasis is placed on combining these actions smoothly to hand over the casualty to medical professionals safely and confidently.
Training is delivered directly at the client’s premises, allowing sessions to be tailored to the specific workplace and the type of environment staff operate in. This ensures the content is directly relevant, with examples and scenarios based on the setting participants are familiar with.
Holding the training on-site also removes the need for travel and reduces disruption to the working day. All necessary equipment and materials are provided, and sessions can be scheduled at times that best suit the team’s routine and operational needs.
Attendees must be aged 16 or over. Physical ability is required for tasks such as performing CPR on a casualty lying on the floor.
Sufficient understanding of written and spoken English is advised to follow instructions, complete assessments, and gain maximum benefit from the course.
Practical, OFQUAL regulated training is delivered by experienced instructors who guide you through realistic scenarios, giving confidence and competence in responding to anaphylactic emergencies.
Compliance with Health & Safety regulations and UK Resuscitation Council guidelines ensures that qualifications gained here are fully recognised. The supportive teaching environment equips you with life-saving skills that are immediately applicable in the workplace or childcare setting.
