A private air-conditioned car from Marrakech to Essaouira and back, so your group is not sharing a minibus with 10 to 15 other guests. Pickup is around 8am, the drive is about 3 hours 30 minutes each way, and you get several hours free in the UNESCO medina, port and ramparts before a late-afternoon return. An argan cooperative stop is available on the way if you want it.
The morning is the road west through argan country, with an optional women-run cooperative and, on Mondays, a possible pause at Oudayas weekly market. In Essaouira you walk the white medina, ramparts, fishing port and beach at your own pace for about five hours. Meeting for the return is usually at the port gate around 4.30pm.
Time in town is not a guided walking circuit. Lunch, shopping and how long you stay on the walls are yours. That is the same idea as the shared listing, with a private car for the long transfers.

One comfort break is built in. If you want the car quieter, or more photo stops, say so at pickup. This is the main reason to book private rather than shared.
Mondays only, the route can pause at Oudayas weekly market, a rural trading day rather than a tourist souk. Other days skip it. Tell us at pickup if a market stop appeals, because it uses time that would otherwise sit in Essaouira.
Closer to Essaouira the landscape turns to argan woodland. A women-run cooperative can show oil pressing if you want to stop; buying is optional. Goats in argan trees are seasonal and not guaranteed. When they are in the branches it is a photo stop, not a feeding show you should join.
About five hours in Essaouira is the usual window before the return. The UNESCO medina is a grid of lanes with crafts, spices and cafes. Walk the ramparts for Atlantic views, then the fishing port of blue boats. Lunch is extra, typically grilled fish near the port. There is no forced walking tour; the driver waits and you explore at your own pace.
The beach sits next to the port and is popular with surfers. Water is cold and currents are strong, so most day visitors photograph the boats and walk the sand rather than swim. An optional camel ride on the beach is sometimes available locally and is paid on the spot. Return meeting is usually the port gate around 4.30pm, back in Marrakech around 7pm.
Pickup is from your Marrakech hotel or riad around 8am. Many riads need a short walk to the nearest street the car can reach. Return is to the same point, usually around 7pm.

Yes, in a private car you control music, stops and whether children need a break. The Atlantic wind is cooler than Marrakech, which younger guests often prefer by afternoon. The drive is still long.
Minimum age on the source file is 1. Infant seats can be requested in advance. Ramparts have drop-offs and uneven stone, so keep a hand on small children near the walls.
A camel ride on the beach is sometimes offered locally and is paid on the spot if you want it. It is not part of this booking. Strong currents and cold water (around 18C year round) make swimming a poor use of the five hours compared with the medina and port.

Closed shoes for medina stone, a light jacket for the ramparts, sun protection, and cash for lunch and extras. Essaouira is windy even in summer, which is why people come here to escape Marrakech heat.
A camera is worth packing for the port and the walls. Leave expensive jewellery in the riad. The medina is compact, so you do not need a large day bag.
Return meeting is typically at the port gate around 4.30pm. If you wander, stay reachable on the mobile number you gave at pickup. Missing the car means arranging your own way back to Marrakech.
We would rather set a slightly later meeting than leave someone behind, but the road still needs to reach Marrakech in the evening. Agree the time clearly before you split up in town.
