Exploring depths beyond 18 metres requires specific training, awareness, and controlled techniques. This course develops the knowledge and practical skills needed to dive safely to a maximum depth of 40 metres. Through structured e-learning and guided deep dives, you will learn to plan and execute deeper dives with confidence while understanding the effects of depth on your body, equipment, and decision-making.
The course begins with PADI e-learning, which covers deep-dive theory, nitrogen narcosis, gas planning, depth-related risks, and equipment considerations. Once the theory is complete, your instructor will review key concepts and prepare you for the practical dives. This ensures you understand how depth affects both the diving environment and your physiological response before entering the water.
Your in-water training includes a series of progressively deeper dives at selected Dubai or Fujairah sites. Skills include monitoring narcosis indicators, practising precise buoyancy at depth, performing timed tasks to observe cognitive changes, and tracking gas usage more actively than in shallower diving. You will also review emergency procedures specific to deeper environments, including controlled ascents and managing increased nitrogen loading.
As the dives progress, you’ll gain familiarity with the unique conditions of deeper water, including temperature changes, light reduction, and equipment handling under pressure. On completion of the required dives and knowledge components, you will earn the PADI Deep Diver Specialty certification, qualifying you to dive to 40 metres with a buddy.
Deep training dives may take place in Dubai or Fujairah depending on conditions. Dubai sites provide predictable entry points and structured depth profiles ideal for early deep-exercise planning. These locations help you focus on equipment setup, descent control, and depth monitoring without unnecessary environmental complexity.
Fujairah offers access to natural depth contours, rocky structures, and occasional wreck zones, making it suitable for deeper skills and progressive depth training. Conditions are assessed daily to ensure that each dive is both safe and aligned with the goals of the session.
You must hold a PADI Adventure Diver certification or an equivalent qualification from another recognised dive-training agency. A solid foundation in basic and intermediate diving skills is required, as deeper diving introduces additional planning and risk-management considerations.
Good general fitness and recent diving activity are recommended. If you have not dived for an extended period, completing a refresher beforehand helps ensure safety and comfort during deeper exercises.
With extensive experience in advanced-level instruction, this centre offers a structured, safety-focused approach to deep-dive training. Instructors communicate clearly, assess your readiness at every stage, and ensure you progress at a pace that suits your ability.
Divers benefit from well-maintained equipment, organised logistics, and a positive atmosphere that encourages questions and steady skill development. Training across both Dubai and Fujairah also provides a richer understanding of deep environments, helping you prepare for future dives worldwide.
