Part B is an essential continuation of your freediving education, providing the opportunity to build upon the foundational skills learned in Part A. This course introduces participants to both the ‘Free Immersion’ (FIM) and ‘Constant Weight’ (CWT) disciplines of freediving, offering hands-on experience in open water sessions.
Throughout the two open water sessions, participants will engage in a variety of practical exercises focused on enhancing their freediving abilities. You will start by reviewing the principles learned in Part A, ensuring you are well-prepared for the challenges ahead. Under the guidance of a qualified PADI professional instructor, you will practise the techniques for ‘Free Immersion’ and ‘Constant Weight’ freediving, focusing on equalisation and buoyancy control.
The goal of the course is to achieve a Constant Weight freedive to a depth of 10 metres. With small group sizes, you will receive personalised attention, allowing for tailored instruction and feedback. The emphasis on buddy procedures ensures that you develop the skills necessary to support fellow divers, creating a safe and enjoyable environment during your underwater experiences.
Mercers Lake is conveniently situated near the M25 and M23, offering easy access from London and Gatwick Airport. The nearest rail stations are Merstham and Redhill, with direct services from London Victoria.
Local buses from Redhill station provide additional transport options, with a short walk from the bus stop to the lake. The clear waters, friendly staff, and abundance of aquatic life make Mercers Lake an ideal location for learning to dive.
To enrol in the course, participants must be at least 15 years old and demonstrate the ability to swim continuously on the surface for 200 metres without swimming aids or for 300 metres using a mask, snorkel, and fins.
Additionally, completion of the PADI Freediver Medical History Form, the PADI Freediver Program Release of Liability form, and the PADI Freediver Safe Diving Practices Statement of Understanding is required.
It is essential to have completed Part A of the course, which is available for booking and can be found at the bottom of this page.

Having not dived for 5 years I was worried that I did not know how to set up the kit and do the dive basics. This course was perfect. I was able to ask all the questions I wanted and the instructor was calm and positive. I completed the course…
