Explore the fjord-like coastline of Musandam on a half-day dhow cruise from Khasab. This relaxed boat trip includes dolphin watching and a snorkeling stop at Telegraph Island, one of the region’s most well-known swimming locations. Travel aboard a traditional Omani wooden dhow while enjoying refreshments and views of the rugged Musandam cliffs.
The cruise begins at Khasab Port where guests board a traditional Omani dhow. After a short welcome and safety introduction, the boat departs into the Musandam fjords.
As the dhow cruises along the coastline, guests often spot dolphins swimming near the boat. The captain may slow the vessel to allow time to watch and photograph the animals.
The boat then anchors near Telegraph Island. Guests have time to snorkel or swim in the clear water while using the provided snorkeling equipment and life jackets.
After the stop at Telegraph Island, the dhow sails back toward Khasab Port while guests relax on board and enjoy refreshments such as tea, coffee and fruit.
Khasab sits on the northern tip of the Musandam Peninsula in Oman. The region is known for its dramatic fjord-like coastline formed by steep mountains that descend directly into the sea.
Telegraph Island lies within one of the main fjords and was once the site of a British telegraph station in the nineteenth century. Today it is one of the most popular snorkeling locations in the area.
No previous snorkeling experience is required. Snorkeling gear, life jackets and towels are provided.
The cruise is not recommended for pregnant travellers. The dhow is not wheelchair or stroller accessible and pets are not permitted.
