Enjoy a relaxed four-hour water session where you can bring your own kayak, canoe, or paddleboard and make the most of a well-managed lake environment. This option is ideal for confident paddlers who want time on the water without instruction, while still benefiting from on-site supervision and rescue cover. Facilities on site mean you can focus on paddling, socialising, and enjoying the space at your own pace.
On arrival, you’ll check in with the team and unload your craft close to the water, keeping things straightforward and efficient. After a brief safety check and confirmation of lake rules, you’ll be shown where to launch and can take to the water when ready. Buoyancy aids are required for all participants, with hire available if needed.
Once on the lake, you’re free to paddle at your own pace for the full session, whether that’s steady laps, practising manoeuvres, or simply spending time afloat with friends or family. The lake layout provides plenty of space, even during busier periods, and the presence of safety staff means support is always close by if required.
Changing rooms and hot showers are available throughout your visit, making it easy to warm up and change before heading home. Spectators are welcome to stay for the duration of the session, creating a friendly and social atmosphere while keeping safety as the top priority.
The session takes place at Upton Warren, a well-known watersports area in Worcestershire with easy road access from Bromsgrove, Droitwich, and surrounding towns. The site is set just off the main road, making arrival and unloading simple, even if you’re transporting larger craft.
Free customer parking is available across two on-site car parks, with designated disabled spaces close to the main facilities. Additional overflow parking is nearby when required, and bicycle racks are available for those arriving on two wheels. Clear signage on arrival helps guide you to check-in and launch points, keeping everything smooth from start to finish.
Participants must be able to swim confidently and feel comfortable spending extended time on open water. This is not a coached session, so paddlers should already have basic control of their chosen craft and understand how to manage themselves safely.
All craft must meet safety standards and remain within manufacturer weight limits. Only approved craft types are permitted, and all participants must wear a buoyancy aid at all times while on the water.
The team provides a supportive yet relaxed environment where independent paddlers can enjoy quality water access without unnecessary restrictions. Supervision and rescue cover are always in place, giving reassurance while still allowing you the freedom to paddle how you choose.
Flexibility is a key part of the experience, with sessions suitable for individuals, families, and small groups bringing their own equipment. The focus is on making lake access straightforward, safe, and enjoyable, backed by experienced staff and well-maintained facilities.
Yes, you should arrive at least 15 minutes before your session start time. This allows enough time to check in, unload your craft, and speak with the team about safety requirements before heading to the water.
Arriving early also helps keep the lake running smoothly for everyone. Late arrivals may lose some of their water time, as sessions must finish at the scheduled end time.
Inflatable kayaks and paddleboards are welcome, provided they are designed for open water use and are in good condition. They must meet basic safety standards and be suitable for the user’s weight.
The team may carry out a brief visual check before launch. Craft that are clearly unsuitable or unsafe will not be permitted onto the lake.
This session does not include coaching or instruction, as it is intended for independent paddlers bringing their own equipment. You are free to paddle at your own pace without structured guidance.
Safety supervision and rescue cover are provided at all times, but you should already feel confident controlling your craft and managing yourself on the water.
Changing rooms and hot showers are available throughout the session, making it easy to get changed before and after your time on the lake. These facilities are included as part of your launch access.
There are also designated areas for unloading and preparing your craft, helping to keep the lakeside organised and accessible for all users.
Yes, two people may share a single craft if it is designed for tandem use and remains within the manufacturer’s recommended weight limit. This applies to double kayaks and some larger paddleboards.
The session price is charged per craft rather than per person, making it a good option for pairs or families sharing equipment.
Children aged 8 and over can take part when using appropriate craft and wearing a buoyancy aid at all times. Open canoes are suitable from age 12 and above.
All under-18s must be supervised by a responsible adult, either on the water with them or from the shore, depending on the setup.
Rain does not affect your session; you will still be able to take part. Since you will get wet anyway, it can even be more fun in the rain!
If the weather becomes unsafe, such as lightning or thunder, the session will pause until conditions improve. You’ll be given options to rebook or request a refund if a session is cancelled.
Should Aztec Adventure Ltd, for reasons beyond their control (including high winds, lightning storms and icy conditions*), feel it is necessary to close the activity once your party have already commenced participation, you will be offered alternative activities, times or dates to return within one year and rescheduled free of charge.
Alternatively, you may opt to receive a gift card for the full value of your booking, which can be used to rebook at a date and time that suits your group within 12 months.
In such circumstances, you will not be entitled to a refund, in part or whole.
*In all other weather conditions, we operate as normal and standard conditions apply.
