Complete a practical one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course that meets HSE expectations for low-risk workplaces. Training covers assessment, CPR, bleeding, burns, choking and shock with ongoing practical assessment throughout the day.
Work through a hands-on one-day first aid course that equips you to act decisively as a designated workplace first aider. Your instructor covers emergency scene management, adult CPR, AED operation, unconscious casualty care, choking, wounds, bleeding, and shock through practical exercises.
Each topic is demonstrated clearly before you practice with training equipment and realistic workplace scenarios, ensuring you understand not just what to do, but why. Continuous practical assessment throughout the day keeps learning relaxed and interactive without high-stress written exams.
Courses are delivered at our dedicated training room in the Skipton area at Heber Drive, featuring clean, modern facilities with spacious areas for practical casualty simulations. The venue is easily reached from Leeds, Bradford, and the wider Dales with convenient parking.
We confirm registration times, parking directions, and room access by email ahead of your training date. Refreshments are provided during breaks, and local cafes and shops are within a short drive for lunch.
Learners can be 14 or over under HSE guidance. No prior first aid experience is necessary. You need to kneel on the floor for CPR practice.
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for practical, floor-based activities. Let us know if you have any accessibility needs or learning preferences so we can support your certification smoothly.
We deliver regulated first aid training with patient, practical tutors who make emergency procedures stick under pressure. We bring that same engaging, practical energy into our workplace first aid delivery.
Our courses comply fully with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines, providing a regulated 3-year certificate that meets workplace compliance standards for low-to-medium risk businesses. You will learn from instructors with extensive practical medical and outdoor leadership credentials.
Classroom sessions meet at 17 Heber Drive, 17 Heber Drive, East Marton, Skipton BD23 3HA. Arrive a few minutes early for registration.
We send room access, parking and arrival time before your session.
Employers in low-risk workplaces and anyone nominated as a workplace first aider who needs the one-day Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 qualification. The syllabus follows HSE expectations for shops, offices and similar environments.
Learners can be 14 or older under current HSE guidance. Tell us about dyslexia, anxiety or mobility needs when you book so tutors can support you through practical assessment.
Your course fee covers qualified tuition for the full day, training manikins, AED trainers, bandages and scenario props, plus certification when you meet the practical outcomes.
Travel to Skipton, lunch, personal clothing and any employer paperwork beyond the certificate are not included. Refreshments during breaks are usually available at the venue.
Sessions run at our training room on Heber Drive in the Skipton area, with space for floor-based CPR and small-group scenario work. On-site parking makes arrival straightforward from Leeds, Bradford and the Dales.
We email room access, registration time and any door codes before your date. Arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in before the safety briefing starts.
Wear comfortable trousers and flat shoes because you will kneel on the floor for CPR and recovery position practice. Avoid restrictive skirts or heels that make practical work awkward.
Bring lunch, snacks and water for the full training day. A light jacket helps if you prefer layers while moving between classroom and practical stations.
No previous first aid certificate is required to join this one-day course. Tutors explain each skill step by step before you practise on manikins and with partners.
If you have an expired certificate, this course renews your workplace first aider status for another three years when you pass. Share any health conditions that affect kneeling so we can adapt practice safely.
Assessment is continuous through the day via practical demonstrations, scenario exercises and tutor observation rather than a separate written exam. You will practise CPR, choking response, bleeding control and other core topics multiple times.
Tutors give clear feedback before sign-off and explain any skills that need a quick recap. Most learners complete comfortably when they engage with the practical sessions.
The regulated Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work certificate is valid for three years from the date of issue. Display it according to your employer’s policy and keep a copy for audits.
We can remind you about refresher courses as your expiry approaches. Many workplaces book annual refreshers or move staff onto the three-day FAW course if risk assessments change.
Class sizes stay within HSE trainer-to-candidate ratios so everyone gets repeated hands-on practice on manikins and in scenarios. You will work in pairs and small groups throughout the day.
Employers should still nominate enough first aiders for shift cover and holiday absence. One certificate per person is issued; sharing a place between colleagues is not permitted.
Reschedule and cancellation terms follow the UK tiers published on this booking page. With at least seven days notice we will aim to move you to another published date when a place is free.
Contact us as early as possible if work or travel plans change. Late cancellations may incur fees because course places are limited and manikins are prepared for your attendance.
All manikins, AED training units, bandages, slings and classroom scenario kit required for the EFAW syllabus are provided on the day. You do not need to buy practice materials in advance.
Bring personal items such as lunch, water and a notebook if you like written notes. Tutors sanitise shared equipment between sessions following hygiene guidance.
