ActivityCoasteering Adventure in Croyde
We partner with Rewilding Britain to help protect our natural spaces for future adventures.
All centres are vetted for safety and quality. Your adventure is in good hands with adventuro.

Explore Baggy Point on a guided coasteering session that mixes sea swimming, rock scrambling and optional cliff jumps along one of North Devon's most dramatic headlands. Your qualified guide chooses a route for your group's ability and keeps jumps optional throughout.
You scramble, jump and swim along the coastline around Baggy Point with a guide who knows every gully and chooses a line matched to your group on the day. Explore sea caves, whirlpools and natural swimming pools; your guide explains each feature before you decide whether to climb, swim or jump.
Sessions suit families, hen or stag groups, and team days out, and coasteering often works well on a rainy North Devon afternoon when the wetsuit keeps you warm. Your guide checks tide and sea state before you leave the centre and reschedules if risks are too high; minimum age is ten with a 50 metre swim requirement.
We are located next to Baggy Point, strategically the closest coasteering centre to North Devon's world-class routes, with the shortest walk from our purpose-built centre on Moor Lane. You kit up indoors, store valuables in lockers, and reach the coast quickly with your guide.
Unlike providers run from a van, you get indoor changing, hot showers, and a sea view centre before and after your adventure. The National Trust headland offers dramatic cliffs, smugglers caves, and gullies a short distance from Croyde village and the main beach.
You must swim 50 metres unaided and bring swimwear, old trainers you do not mind getting wet, and loose shorts to wear over your wetsuit. Coasteering is physical; you should be comfortable clambering on wet rock and spending time in cool Atlantic water.
We provide wetsuit, buoyancy aid, and helmet. Message us in chat if anyone in your group needs a mellower route, has additional needs, or is nervous about jumps so we can plan the session honestly.
We pioneered coasteering along Baggy Point, with family, adventurer, and energetic routes led by fully qualified beach lifeguards who work to National Coasteering Charter standards.
Sessions start from our purpose-built centre with indoor changing, hot showers, and lockers, so you kit up and debrief in comfort before heading back to the village.
Coasteering is a guided coastal adventure combining sea swimming, rock scrambling, low-level climbing, and optional jumps into deep water. You explore parts of the coastline you cannot reach on foot alone.
No prior experience is required. Your guide explains techniques clearly, chooses a route for your group's ability, and keeps jumps optional throughout the session.
Coasteering is safe when run by qualified instructors who assess tide, swell, and weather before you enter the water. You receive a full safety briefing and are fitted with a wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet, and gloves when needed.
Guides are trained beach lifeguards with rescue skills and first aid. Routes are adapted through the session, and your guide can reschedule if conditions are unsuitable.
Bring swimwear for under your wetsuit, a towel, sunscreen on sunny days, and closed-toe laced trainers you do not mind getting wet. Wet shoes or sandals are not suitable on slippery rock.
Wear board shorts or sports shorts over your wetsuit to protect the suit and your skin when sliding in gullies. We provide the main safety kit at Baggy Lodge.
Yes. We are one of the few providers in Croyde with hot showers after your session, plus heated changing areas separated by gender.
Free lockers keep phones, keys, and bags secure while you are on the coast. Families especially appreciate indoor changing when kitting children in and out of wetsuits.
We stock hundreds of wetsuits on site with at least ten suits in each size band, so you should get a comfortable fit for your session.
Guides check buoyancy aids and helmets before you leave the centre so everything sits correctly before you reach the water.
Public coasteering sessions are for ages ten and over. You must swim at least 50 metres in open water with a buoyancy aid.
If anyone in your group is nervous about jumps or fitness, tell us in chat when you reserve so we can plan a route with the right pace and challenge.
We keep a maximum of six guests per qualified coasteering guide, one of the strongest ratios on Baggy Point.
Smaller groups mean closer supervision, more time at each feature, and routes that can flex when confidence grows through the session.
Jumps are never compulsory. Your guide introduces each feature and you choose whether to climb, swim, or jump.
Many first-timers start with lower lines and build confidence; experienced guests can ask for more challenging routes when the sea state allows.
Guides check conditions on the day and may move your session time or reschedule if risks are too high. Safety always comes before sticking to a fixed timetable.
Coasteering can still run in light rain; your wetsuit keeps you warm. We contact you if we need to change plans.
Meet at Baggy Lodge, Moor Lane, Croyde, EX33 1PA. Check in indoors, store valuables in lockers, and walk to Baggy Point with your guide.
Arrive a little early to sign waivers and get fitted with kit. Allow extra time for parking in Croyde on busy summer weekends.

You will find us in the heart of Croyde Bay, steps from one of the UK's most reliable beach breaks. We run surf lessons, coasteering, weekend surf camps, instructor training, equipment hire, and sea sauna sessions from our purpose-built centre on Moor Lane, with heated changing rooms, hot showers, and secure lockers so you can focus on the session.
Our coaches work at a six-to-one ratio on group lessons, hold beach lifeguard and Surfing England qualifications, and coach everyone from first-time surfers to national pathway athletes. Whether you join us for a single lesson, a private session, or a multi-day camp, we keep safety, progression, and time in the water at the centre of every experience.
