Got some surfboards and wetsuits for a couple of hours. They were dropped off at the right place right time, he was very helpful and knowledgeable, gave us a little info about the beach because we hadn't surfed there before. Will definitely be using again and recommending

During the 8-week course, you'll acquire skills and qualifications in ISA surf and SUP instruction, kayaking, lifesaving, first aid, and more. Whether you decide to pursue opportunities locally in Pembrokeshire or venture internationally to work with our partners across Europe, Morocco, and Indonesia, this course equips you with the expertise to thrive anywhere.
Our course offers extensive training in surfing, coasteering, beach lifeguarding, SUP, kayaking, and first aid. Along with practical skills, you'll learn about planning, risk assessments, safeguarding, health and safety, and more.

The qualifications you work towards will be dependent on individual competencies, interests, and conditions. We will plan this with you. We generally offer the following qualifications, and most participants complete 8 in 8 weeks:
Your day-to-day experience on the course will be dynamic and engaging. Each day begins with planning and preparing various activities, where you'll actively participate, offer explanations, and demonstrate different aspects of the tasks at hand. You'll have the opportunity to shadow experienced coaches, gaining insights and contributing to lessons, especially in specialised areas like surfing or SUP. A significant part of your training involves meeting the assisting hour requirements essential for various qualifications.
Ensuring the safety and readiness of all equipment and facilities is a key responsibility. You'll be involved in explaining safety procedures to others, conducting thorough risk assessments, and maintaining detailed logbooks and theoretical work. Managing the center's cleanliness and organising equipment will also be part of your routine.
Expect to start your mornings with pre-class swims and wind down with post-work surf sessions, fostering camaraderie among your peers. Additionally, you'll spend time with the team exploring Pembrokeshire's most breathtaking beaches, coves, estuaries, and gullies, making every day a new adventure in this picturesque setting.

Training occurs at multiple locations across South Pembrokeshire, including Pembroke, Freshwater West, Saundersfoot, Tenby, and Stackpole Quay.
Self-catered accommodation is included in the course price for the full 8 weeks. This will be a team house for everyone on the course, and is conveniently located between our various training locations in Pembrokeshire.

Dean, our leader and a seasoned waterman, has proudly represented Great Britain in competitive surfing. As a surf ambassador in regions like the UK/Europe, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka, he plays a pivotal role in aiding national bodies to forge clear developmental pathways for these sports. With a quarter-century of expertise in surf, SUP, and lifesaving training for all skill levels, Dean is also committed to collaborating with Disability Sport Wales, community groups, schools, the National Trust, Pembrokeshire County Council, and international organisations.

Yes we are. We have £10 million public liability insurance and all instructors & surf crew are fully qualified & members of the NGB.
There are no hidden costs from us, but you should be aware of the following costs associated with training as an outdoor instructor:
Most qualifications need to be renewed 12 - 24 months from assessment date. Please ask if you want more clarification on a specific award.
As part of your course, you will be trained in multiple locations around South Pembrokeshire, both on land, on the beach and in the water. We have activity bases in Pembroke, Freshwater West, Saundersfoot, Tenby and Stackpole Quay.
Most training will be held at our Activity Centre on Gupton Farm, Castlemartin, SA71 5HW.
Accommodation is included, which will be a team house for everyone on the course.
Food is not included but facilities within the accommodation will cater towards cooking etc, and the venues that we operate from have nearby cafes. Our venues also have some basic facilities like kettles and microwave. You can always bring a packed lunch to the day sessions, too.
