Mountains and dunes share one five-day arc: Toubkal refuge, summit at 4,167 metres, then a southbound road journey through Dades, Todra and Merzouga with photo stops at kasbahs such as Ait Ben Haddou when timing allows. Camel time in Erg Chebbi follows the alpine legs once cols and scree are behind you, with a guesthouse night near Imlil after the long summit descent.
Sunset and sunrise camel rides frame desert camp nights before the long Atlas return to Marrakech on day five. Drivers and mountain crews coordinate refuge beds, camp hosts and hotel stops on one shared schedule, so you are not rebooking transport in each town after the summit push.
Single operations desk books refuge beds, drivers and camp hosts so you are not negotiating new taxis in Imlil or Ouarzazate. Adventurous travellers get alpine ascent and Sahara dunes in one confirmation instead of two separate products.
Guides set conservative turnaround times on summit day if altitude symptoms appear, and desert stages still include breakfasts and dinners at camp or hotel as per your confirmed plan.
