Surf in the morning, then stretch on the same site after you change and eat. The first two hours are a lesson on Watergate Bay, with a soft-top board, a wetsuit and a coach for every six people. At 13:00 the yoga class starts, aimed at tired shoulders and a stiff lower back rather than a studio crowd who have not been in the sea.
The morning is a surf lesson. You check in at 10:00, change, walk five minutes to the sand, then spend about ninety minutes in the water after a brief and a warm-up. Midday you change and eat. At 13:00 the yoga starts on site, looking out over the bay.
Neither half is a performance class. The surf follows what you can already do, from a first stand through to cleaner turns. The yoga is there to undo the paddle, not to test how deep you can fold. Groups sit between six and twelve people, with a coach for every six in the water.
After the surf you stay on site for yoga rather than driving to a studio across town. Top Field Car Park holds the school, the heated changing rooms and the Hangout Cafe, so the gap at midday is a change and a bite, not a car journey.
Watergate Bay sits a short drive from Newquay centre. Parking overlooks the water. Say you are with the session at the barrier for the customer rate. The 56 bus from Newquay is about 10 minutes if you would rather not drive.
Neither surfing nor yoga needs to be in your week already. The booking is for ages 18 and over, and it needs at least six people to run, with a maximum of twelve.
Bring swimwear, a towel and flip-flops for the surf, and clothes you can move in for the yoga. A water bottle helps across both halves. Get changed into swimwear before you arrive if you want to skip the morning queue.
The same site holds the surf kit, the heated changing rooms and the yoga space, so the day stays in one place. Soft-top boards are replaced each season, and groups stay at six per coach in the water.
Joel and Naomi set this up after years as lifeguards. The yoga is booked as a finish to a surf, not a separate class you have to find. You turn up with a towel and something to wear on the mat. We handle the rest.
Meet at Top Field Car Park, Watergate Bay, Newquay, TR8 4AA. From Newquay, drive through Porth, then up the hill and turn left through the open gates before the dip into Watergate. From the bay, drive toward Newquay, pass the shipping containers, and turn right into the car park.
Please arrive 30 minutes before the 10:00 start. The yoga half begins at 13:00 on the same site.
Surf from 10:00, with a brief and a warm-up on the sand and about ninety minutes in the water. At midday you change and eat on site. Yoga starts at 13:00 and the booking runs through to 14:00.
Please arrive 30 minutes before 10:00. If you only want the surf, book a two-hour lesson instead. This listing is the two halves together, and the yoga is not sold on its own here.
Neither is required. The surf lesson follows what you can already do, from a first stand through to cleaner turns. The yoga is built for people who have just been in the sea, not for a regular studio class.
If you already surf or already practise yoga, say so when you book. The coach and the yoga teacher would rather know that than guess from how you stand on the sand.
Adults aged 18 and over. The session needs at least six people to run, and it caps at twelve, with a coach for every six in the water.
If you have fewer than six, look at the two-hour group or private lesson instead. We will not run the yoga half for a handful of people, because the booking is built as a shared morning.
Top Field Car Park above Watergate Bay is the meeting point for the whole day. You change there, walk down for the surf, then come back up for yoga. There is no second address.
From Newquay, come through Porth and turn left through the gates before the dip. From the bay, turn right after the shipping containers. Tell the attendant you are with the session for the customer rate.
A soft-top board and a wetsuit for the morning. Boards are replaced each season. Yoga mats and the space are ready at 13:00. You leave school boards on the sand at midday and we carry them back up.
Heated changing rooms are on site between the two halves. The beach box holds keys, a phone and a bottle during the surf, at your own risk and with limited space.
Swimwear, a towel and flip-flops for the surf, plus clothes you can move in for yoga. A full water bottle helps across both halves. Changing into swimwear before you arrive keeps the 10:00 rooms moving.
Sunscreen on a bright morning. Leave spare bags in the car. Midday food is not included, though the Hangout Cafe is on site if you want something between the surf and the mat.
Light rain is usually fine for both halves. Wetsuits stay warm year round, and the changing rooms are heated. We cancel the surf when the wind is too high, the swell is too strong, or fog sits on the bay, or if the beach is red-flagged.
If the morning cannot run, we rearrange or refund the booking. That only happens a couple of times a season. Yoga on its own is not offered as a replacement that day.
Yes. The surf wraps around midday, and yoga starts at 13:00, so you have time to rinse off, change and eat. The Hangout Cafe is on the same site if you have not brought food.
Do not plan to drive into Newquay for lunch. The gap is short on purpose, and the point of the booking is that both halves stay here.
It is a stretch and a reset, not a fast flow. The focus is breath, shoulders, hips and a lower back that has been arched over a board for two hours.
You do not need to be flexible. The teacher would rather you stay in a range that feels useful after the water than push into a pose that fights a tired paddle.
Private parking sits next to the school and looks over the bay. Tell the attendant you are with the surf and yoga session for the customer rate, and say you will be there through 14:00.
It is one of the roomier school car parks in the area, but summer still fills. Leave Newquay with time to spare so you are not late for the 10:00 brief.
