This four day route is the classic way to reach the summit of Mount Toubkal, following the Mizane Valley from Imlil up to the Toubkal Refuge before an early start for the top. The ascent is physically demanding but does not require technical mountaineering experience, and the reward is a 360 degree panorama stretching across the High Atlas towards the Anti-Atlas and, on a clear day, the edge of the Sahara.
Days are structured to allow proper acclimatisation, with a night in Imlil before heading into the mountains, a steady climb to the refuge, summit day itself, and a final day back in Marrakech to recover before departure.
An experienced local guide and mule team support every step of the route, carrying the main luggage so trekkers can focus on the climb. The itinerary is paced to give a realistic chance of reaching the summit while keeping the trip to a manageable four days.
Optional extensions are available for travellers who want to combine the summit with more of Morocco, including Berber village visits, a Sahara Desert tour, cooking classes or a camel ride in Asni.
