Over four days you move from the busy streets of Marrakech into the High Atlas, walking classic valley and pass routes before finishing with a desert contrast at Agafay. Mountain days follow well-used trails through terraced fields, walnut groves and high cols, with nights in Berber guesthouses where meals are shared and the pace stays relaxed enough to enjoy the scenery.
The final day swaps rock and green valleys for Agafay's stone desert and wide horizons. You return to Marrakech the same afternoon with a full picture of Atlas village life and a memorable desert ride or quad session to round off the trip.
Local guides manage the walking days around weather, group fitness and safe pass timings, while mule teams carry main bags so you can focus on the trail. Village guesthouse stays keep you close to mountain communities rather than rushing through in a day.
Combining a multi-day Atlas trek with Agafay in one itinerary saves planning time and gives a clear story: mountains first, desert last. Transfers, meals on the trek and the desert activity are organised as one package from Marrakech pickup to final drop-off.
An early transfer takes you from Marrakech to Imlil at about 1,740 metres. After meeting your guide and mule team you climb toward the Tizi Mzik pass with views back across the valley and forward into higher Atlas country.
The path continues to Aremd village where terraced fields and stone houses sit below the peaks. Settle into your guesthouse, enjoy a shared dinner and rest for the days ahead. Walking time is typically 5 to 6 hours. Meals included: lunch and dinner.
Today's route follows valley paths and rising ground toward the shrine area at Sidi Chamharouch, a well-known stop on Atlas trekking routes. Walnut groves and Berber hamlets line the trail as you gain height toward the overnight village.
Your guesthouse hosts provide dinner after a full day on the path. Walking time is typically 5 to 7 hours depending on group pace and conditions. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
You cross the Tizi n'Tamatert pass with wide views across ridges and valleys before descending toward Imnane. The day mixes steady climbing with a rewarding high col and a gentler finish into the overnight village.
Imnane sits in a quieter valley where farming and mountain life continue much as they have for generations. Walking time is typically 6 to 7 hours. Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A shorter morning walk brings you back toward the Imlil area where your driver meets you for the road to Agafay. After lunch you enjoy either a camel ride or quad bike session among the stone desert hills with Toubkal often visible on the horizon.
By late afternoon you transfer back to Marrakech for drop-off at your accommodation. Walking time in the morning is typically 3 to 4 hours, plus the desert activity. Meals included: breakfast and lunch.
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech. Many riads do not have direct car access, so the driver parks nearby and meets you at a convenient point. Same-day pickup from Marrakech Menara Airport can be arranged when your arrival coincides with the tour start.
At the end of day four you are dropped at the nearest accessible point to your hotel or riad. If needed, the driver can coordinate with your accommodation so someone is ready to meet you.
Most trekking kit can be rented in Imlil if you prefer not to travel with full mountain gear.

Expect four consecutive walking days of roughly 5 to 7 hours on mountain trails with moderate climbs. A reasonable level of fitness and some prior walking experience will make the days more enjoyable.
The pace is guided rather than rushed, with breaks for lunch and photos. If you are unsure, the team can advise based on your recent activity before you confirm.
Nights one to three are in Berber village guesthouses along the route. Rooms are simple and shared facilities are common in mountain villages.
Meals are prepared at the guesthouses each evening and morning. Exact guesthouse names may vary slightly depending on season and group size, but the standard remains clean village accommodation with local hosts.
All meals during the four-day trek are included: breakfasts, lunches and dinners from day one through to lunch on day four before the desert activity.
Dietary needs and allergies should be shared when you book so cooks can plan accordingly. Soft drinks and alcohol are not included.
Yes. Mules and muleteers transport main luggage between overnight stops on the mountain days so you walk with a lighter daypack.
Keep water, spare layers, snacks, camera and any medication in the bag you carry yourself, as you will not have access to mule loads until you reach each guesthouse.
Day four includes either a camel ride or a quad bike session in the Agafay Desert, depending on what you prefer and what the team can arrange for your date.
Share your preference when you book. Both options take place in the Agafay stone desert with transfers included as part of the day before your return to Marrakech.
Sturdy walking boots, waterproofs, warm layers for cool evenings, a daypack, water bottle, sunglasses, sunscreen and a soft bag for mule loads are the essentials.
Much of this can be rented from equipment shops in Imlil if you prefer not to travel with full mountain kit. A head torch is useful for early starts.
Travel insurance is not included and is strongly recommended, covering hiking on mountain trails and any emergency assistance you may need.
Check that your policy covers multi-day trekking and walking on steep, uneven terrain at moderate altitude.
Yes. Solo travellers, couples, families and larger groups can be arranged. Pricing follows the group-size tiers shown on the listing.
Private departures on dates that suit you are available on request when you want a dedicated guide and your own schedule.
If severe weather or unsafe mountain conditions develop, the team may modify or cancel parts of the itinerary for safety.
In those cases you will be offered an alternative date, an alternative itinerary, or a refund where applicable. The team will be in touch as soon as decisions are clear.
