I think my granddaughter & partner found the return paddle quite hard against the stream but Rob their guide was really kind & understanding. Thank you Rob!

This is an unforgettable two-day adventure along the beautiful Devon coastline. The camp is designed for young families with children aged 5-11, providing a perfect blend of excitement, relaxation, and quality family time. No prior kayaking experience is necessary, and all equipment is provided.
On Day 1, you will arrive at our kayak base in Coronation Park, Dartmouth, at 09:30. After meeting your instructor and getting kitted up, you'll load your kayak and begin your adventure along the coast. The morning will be spent discovering hidden gems accessible only by kayak, enjoying a picnic on a deserted beach, and trying your hand at fishing.
In the afternoon, you'll continue exploring the coastline, spotting wildlife, and swimming in secluded coves. By evening, you'll arrive at a remote beach for camping. Here, you'll set up camp with the help of your guide, enjoy a BBQ dinner, and roast marshmallows around a driftwood fire. Evening activities include building rope swings, rock skimming competitions, and playing frisbee.
Day 2 starts with a refreshing swim, followed by a hearty breakfast of bacon sandwiches. You'll then continue your coastal exploration, visiting sea caves and rocky islands, and trying to catch some fish while enjoying another picnic lunch. In the afternoon, you'll gradually make your way back to Dartmouth, aiming to return by mid-afternoon. After unloading your kayaks, you'll share your experiences and say your goodbyes.
Our base is located in the scenic town of Dartmouth, in the beautiful county of Devon. The trip will take you along the wonderful Dart estuary and nearby coastline, featuring hidden beaches, sea caves, and rocky islands.
You will find a remote beach for your camp where you can light a camp fire and relax away from the busy pace of modern life. Whilst camping, we can roast marshmallows on a driftwood fire and meet likeminded kayakers.
Children must be aged 5-11 and should be comfortable in water with a basic level of fitness. No prior kayaking experience is required.
We have been providing guided sea kayak trips and skills courses since 2011, offering experiences for all abilities. Our centre in Dartmouth is led by a team of over 15 top coaches and a fleet of 40+ sea kayaks.
Our guides are friendly, highly qualified, and passionate about sharing their knowledge. We provide stable and easy-to-control kayaks, including large double kayaks for youngsters or those new to kayaking.
We recommend bringing wet shoes or sandals, clothing for paddling, a change of warm outdoor clothing, and a sleeping bag.
If you don’t have a sleeping bag, we can lend you one.
Don't forget a bottle of your favourite wine or beer to enjoy around the campfire!
Experienced paddlers are welcome to bring their own equipment, though we provide all necessary technical gear.
If you prefer your own gear, feel free to bring it along.
We can accommodate most dietary restrictions. Please inform us in advance, and we will ensure your meals are suitable.
Whether you need vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or any other special diet, we’ll make sure you have delicious and appropriate food.
Participants should be comfortable in the water and have a basic level of fitness.
The activities are designed to be enjoyable for all ages and fitness levels, ensuring everyone has a great time.
Safety is our priority. In the case of adverse weather, we will modify the itinerary to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
This might include altering the route or finding more sheltered areas to explore, but rest assured, we aim to make every trip memorable regardless of the weather conditions.
Where you go and what you do is usually exactly the same on all trips, but this trip helps us team up families with kids of a similar age.
IMPORTANT! All ages are welcome on this trip but younger children age 5 to 11 get priority on DOUBLE KAYAKS! If your family has a mix of younger kids and teenagers, you should book the Young Family Trip so that we know to reserve you double kayaks for any younger kids in your group.
As an approximate guide, children aged 11 and younger often go in a double kayak with an adult. However, we know that some 11-year-olds are taller and fitter than their parents! If this is the case of course they can paddle a single kayak by themselves. However, if you are not sure then it might be worth taking a double kayak because double kayaks are great fun and will let you go on a bigger adventure!

We had a great time. The instructor made us feel constantly reassured that we were in good hands. He was also really knowledgeable about the area and able to introduce us to great opportunities to explore various caves and coves during our training.
