Our 90-Minute SUP Tour allows you to brush up on your skills or take a tour as a beginner or a novice and learn some new skills before heading out to explore the caves and coves of Babbacombe Bay. This is a great option for you and your family if you feel some of you need some tips or learn new techniques whilst going on an adventure. The taster tour is for a minimum group size of 4 people booking together or we will need to match you up with other clients. We paddle in the cleanest water in Torbay, our beach is the only beach that has been awarded the blue flag for 37 years within the English Riviera. You will master easy techniques to get up, stay balanced, fall safely without falling in and turn your board and increase your maneuverability.
You will develop a range of skills and abilities that will include: - Launching and landing - Confident standing and how to rudder - Efficient forwards paddling - How to paddle in wind - How to fall onto your board and not in the sea
Routes stay inside sheltered Babbacombe Bay unless the product description takes you further along the coast when the sea state allows. There is time to rest, ask questions, and take in caves, wildlife, and the Blue Flag water that makes Oddicombe a favourite with locals.
Babbacombe Beach alongside Oddicombe Beach is a sheltered cove on the English Riviera with clean water and Blue Flag recognition stretching back 37 years. SW winds are blocked here, so the bay stays calmer than much of the open coast and feels more Mediterranean than many Devon beaches.
You launch straight from the sand with caves nearby and regular seal encounters in season. Parking sits close to the beach, and our team is on hand for kit, a safety brief, and advice on the marked paddling area before you head out.
Session suitability is shown on your chosen product. Beginners are welcome on many tours and lessons when you are happy to get wet and try kneeling or standing with guidance.
Listen to your instructor, stay with the group unless told otherwise, and let us know before the session if anyone in your party has medical needs or limited swimming confidence.

Your guide, all technical equipment, oil skin jackets and changing rooms. Changing rooms are available at the beach base. Transport to Oddicombe is not included.
Bring snacks and drinking water You will also need beach clothes, sun cream, sunhat, sunglasses, wet suits if you want them.
We are very flexible and will contact you prior to your tour should the weather/sea conditions not be suitable to enter the sea caves to find an alternative opportunity.
Cancellations are very rare in the summer due to the predominant wind being off shore. Our standard policy for you to cancel is 24 hours prior to departure. After this time a voucher will be provided if conditions are suitable.

Meet at Oddicombe Beach, Torquay TQ1 3DD unless your confirmation states otherwise for boat trips. Arrive a few minutes early to sign in and collect kit with your guide.
Many of our lessons and tours welcome beginners who are happy to try kneeling or standing with coaching. Your guide sets the pace so mixed abilities can stay together in the sheltered bay.
We run most days in season when the bay is sheltered. Strong wind or unsafe sea state may mean a reschedule or a shorter route. We contact you as early as possible if we need to change plans for safety.
