What is Paddle UK?

Paddle UK sets the standards for paddlesport coaching, leadership and personal skills across the UK. Awards are delivered by qualified coaches and leaders at clubs, centres and independent providers, with pathways for canoe, kayak, SUP and multi-discipline paddlers.

Personal Performance Awards such as Canoe, Sea Kayak and White Water Award recognise your ability in specific environments without a rigid pass-or-fail exam. Leadership qualifications including Paddlesport Leader train you to guide groups safely on sheltered water and beyond.

Choosing a course

Pick the award for the boat and water you actually paddle. Canoe Award suits open canoes on flat and gentle moving water; Sea Kayak and White Water Awards assume experience in those environments. Paddlesport Leader is about guiding groups, not personal grade.
