Itinerary
Each day of the course is centred around a journey along the coast, allowing participants to explore and learn in a real-world setting. Here’s a general breakdown:
Day 1:
- Morning: Introduction and safety briefing, equipment familiarisation, and initial paddling techniques. We start with basic strokes and manoeuvres to ensure everyone is comfortable.
- Midday: Paddle along the coastline, practising strokes and techniques. We’ll stop for a picnic lunch on a remote beach.
- Afternoon: Continue with more advanced paddling skills, including edging and bracing. The day wraps up with a debrief and Q&A session.
Day 2:
- Morning: Review of skills from the previous day, introduction to rescue techniques and emergency procedures.
- Midday: Navigate through more challenging coastal features such as sea caves and rocky headlands. Lunch will be on another scenic beach.
- Afternoon: Focus on tidal planning and navigation exercises, concluding with a practice rescue scenario. Final debrief and feedback session.

Prerequisites
Participants should have basic kayaking experience and a good level of fitness. Additionally, you must be able to swim 50 metres in light clothing to ensure your safety and confidence during the course.
