Pale sand and rocky hills unfold inland from Sharm El Sheikh on a guided loop of about two hours in the saddle. Hotel collection is included, so the whole outing runs closer to three hours door to door. Instructors stay with the group on sand and low hills rather than a road hack.
Inland tracks turn from tarmac to pale sand as the yard fades behind and the guide leads the group onto open desert behind Sharm. Horses settle into a steady walk across dunes and low rocky ground, hotel noise replaced by wind and hoofbeats. The two-hour loop keeps inland, with no sea stretch on this ride.
Rocky ground gives way to wider sand pans where photo stops happen while the horses stand quietly. Pace follows the least experienced rider, with a short trot only if the whole line is secure. Sun on open desert and the slow rhythm of a walking string define the outing.
Sharm El Sheikh's desert sitting behind the resort belt is pale sand and rocky slopes, with the sea out of sight once you leave the coast road. The ride stays on that inland ground rather than threading hotel gardens. Shade is limited once you leave the yard, and open desert here can be fierce in the middle of the day. The yard may shift start times in peak heat, so follow the window you are given rather than arriving on your own clock.
Collection usually covers Naama Bay, Sharks Bay and neighboring hotels. Distances along the strip mean the pickup window can stretch, so be ready early. After you return, the rest of the day is free at the hotel. Give your hotel name when you book so the driver can find the right gate. Treat the pickup slot as the start of the activity, because time in the vehicle sits inside the wider three-hour shape of the outing.
Beginners are welcome. Sitting a walk for two hours and following simple instructions from the ground is all that is asked. Two hours is a long first sit if you are unused to the saddle, so say if you need a halt. If you decide at the last moment that sitting on is not for you, tell the instructor rather than freezing in the saddle; you would wait at the yard for the return transfer while the rest of the group continues the loop.
Long trousers, closed shoes and a light long-sleeve for sun on the open sand work well. Shorts and flip-flops leave skin against the saddle and stirrups. Helmets come from the yard; adjust the strap before you mount. Tie long hair back, leave dangling jewellery in the hotel, and use sunglasses with a strap. Carry water for the wait. Mention ages when you confirm your place; do not assume a lead-rein pony is waiting unless the team have said so.
Hotel collection and a two-hour desert loop keep the outing simple from the hotel door. Guides stay with the group for the whole loop, and the pace follows the least experienced rider rather than a fast photo run. The format is the same whether you are a first sit or you already know a rising trot.
Helmets, horse and tack come from the yard, so you do not need your own kit. If a helmet feels loose or pinches, say so before the group walks out. Stay reachable on the morning of the ride so any change of pickup time, including a heat-related shift, can reach you before you leave the hotel.
We'll collect you from your Sharm El Sheikh hotel and takes you inland to the desert yard. Wear clothes you can ride in, and be ready in the pickup window. Late arrivals shorten briefing time or time in the saddle because the group leaves together.
At the yard you are matched to a horse, fitted with a helmet, and shown how to mount and hold the reins. Tell the instructor your real experience level so the line can be ordered safely. First-timers stay next to a guide rather than at the back of a fast group.
The loop runs across open desert and low rocky ground behind the resort belt. Walk is the default pace; a short trot may be offered if everyone is secure. Photo stops happen when the horses are standing quietly. This is not a beach or sea ride.
Back at the yard you dismount, return the helmet, and load for the drive to your hotel. Stretch your legs before sitting in the vehicle. Door to door the outing is about three hours, so keep the rest of the day loosely planned.
Yes. Collection from hotels in the Sharm El Sheikh area is part of this ride. Give your hotel name when you book so the driver can find the right gate, and be ready in the window you are given because the coast road can slow the van.
The time in the vehicle sits inside the wider three-hour shape of the outing. A late appearance at reception cuts into briefing or time in the saddle, so treat the pickup slot as the start of the activity.
About two hours on horseback is the advertised ride. Door to door, with collection and return, the outing is closer to three hours. The extra time is transfer and the briefing at the yard, not extra loops in the desert.
Pace follows the group. Walks are the default for mixed ability; a short trot may happen if everyone is secure. Do not expect a fast canter session on this ride.
Beginners are expected. Tell the yard at the start so they match you to a quieter horse and put a guide close in the line. You will be shown how to hold the reins, how to sit, and how the horse moves off.
Two hours is a long first sit if you are unused to the saddle. Stretch your legs at any halt you are offered, and say if you need to walk beside the horse for a stretch rather than pushing through discomfort in silence.
No. This day is a desert horse ride only. The horse-and-quad safari from Sharm El Sheikh is a separate product that mixes both, with a different price and a different shape to the day.
Keep this one if you only want time in the saddle. Use the combined listing if an ATV section is part of what you want from the same hub.
Long trousers and closed shoes are the practical kit. Shorts and flip-flops leave skin against the saddle and stirrups. A light long-sleeve helps with sun on the open sand.
Helmets come from the yard. Tie long hair back. Leave dangling jewellery in the hotel. Sunglasses with a strap stop them bouncing off at a trot.
The yard decides on the day whether a child can sit their own horse or needs to share, based on height, confidence and how the horses are going. Very young children are not a fit for a two-hour desert loop.
Mention ages when you confirm your place. Do not assume a lead-rein pony is waiting unless the team have said so.
This outing is a desert ride on sand and low hills, not a swim or a beach stretch around the horses' legs.
If a sea-and-sand horse outing is what you want, look at the Hurghada sun-and-sea ride or the Soma Bay desert-and-sea listing instead of this Sharm desert loop.
Open desert in Sharm El Sheikh can be fierce in the middle of the day. Carry water for the wait, wear a layer that covers shoulders, and use sunscreen on the backs of hands as well as face.
The yard may shift start times in peak heat. Follow the window you are given rather than arriving on your own clock. Shade is limited once you leave the yard.
Helmets are issued at the yard as part of the ride kit, along with the horse and tack. Wear the one you are given rather than bringing a fashion hat. Adjust the strap before you mount.
If a helmet feels loose or pinches, say so before the group walks out. A poor fit is harder to fix once you are on the sand with the rest of the line waiting.
Say so as soon as you reach the yard. A quieter horse and a guide at your shoulder are the usual answer, and you can spend a few extra minutes on the ground before you mount.
You can also decide at the last moment that sitting on is not for you. Tell the instructor rather than freezing in the saddle. The rest of the group will continue the loop; you would wait at the yard for the return transfer.
