Head out from Sharm El Sheikh into the Sinai desert for a full day that takes in a quad bike ride, a stop to snorkel in calm coastal water and a walk through the Coloured Canyon's rock formations, before finishing with free time in Dahab. Round trip transport and a guide are included throughout.
After pickup from Sharm El Sheikh, the day moves into the desert by quad bike, riding at a guided pace across sandy, open tracks with stops to take in the surroundings. The route suits beginners as well as anyone who has ridden before.
Next comes a snorkelling stop near Dahab in calm coastal water, followed by a walk through the Coloured Canyon between narrow sandstone walls that shift through shades of pink, orange and grey. The canyon walk is gentle underfoot with some scrambling in places, and the day ends with an Egyptian lunch and free time in Dahab before the drive back.
Dahab sits on the Gulf of Aqaba a couple of hours north of Sharm El Sheikh, backed by the mountains of the Sinai interior and known for calm, clear water close to shore. The Coloured Canyon lies further inland, a narrow gorge cut into layered sandstone that changes shade as the light shifts through the day.
The drive between Sharm and Dahab takes in open desert scenery, small Bedouin settlements and glimpses of the Red Sea coastline. Dahab itself has a relaxed, low-rise feel with a promenade of cafes and shops that makes a good place to unwind after the more active parts of the day.
No previous quad biking or snorkelling experience is required, as the desert route is guided at an easy pace and the snorkelling stop is optional in how far out you go.
Reasonable mobility helps with getting on and off the quad bike and walking through parts of the canyon that involve light scrambling, but the day is designed to suit first-timers.
This tour brings together three different sides of the Sinai in a single day, the open desert, the Red Sea coast and the sandstone canyon, without needing to arrange separate trips.
Group sizes are kept to around 12, and round trip transport from Sharm El Sheikh is built in, so the logistics are handled and the focus can stay on the activities themselves.
