PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Specialty Course

Diving with enriched air allows you to extend no-decompression limits and reduce surface intervals, making it one of the most practical speciality courses for recreational divers. This one-day programme teaches you how to analyse gas blends, manage oxygen exposure, and set your dive computer correctly for nitrox use. It is suitable for anyone looking to increase their efficiency and comfort on repetitive or deeper recreational dives.

Key Details 🧭

• Course duration: 1 day
• Daily start times: 9:00, 12:00, 15:00
• Number of dives: None required (theory + practical workshop)
• Minimum age: 12 years
• Prerequisite: PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent

Key Skills 🤿

• Analysing nitrox blends using an oxygen analyser
• Setting dive computers for enriched-air use
• Planning dives with increased no-decompression limits
• Understanding oxygen-exposure management
• Reviewing enriched-air equipment considerations
• Interpreting MOD (maximum operating depth) values

What to Expect 🌊

Your training begins with PADI e-learning, which introduces the theory behind enriched-air diving. You’ll learn how different oxygen percentages influence no-decompression limits, how to calculate maximum operating depth, and how to assess the risks associated with higher oxygen levels. The online section can be completed at home at your own pace.

The in-person session focuses on practical skills. You will learn how to use an oxygen analyser to verify tank contents, record oxygen percentages accurately, and adjust your dive computer to the correct mix. Instructors also explain how to manage cumulative oxygen exposure and how enriched-air considerations affect dive planning. Although no dives are required for certification, this workshop prepares you to use nitrox confidently during future diving activities.

By the end of the course, you’ll understand how to incorporate nitrox safely into your diving routine and enjoy the extended limits and efficiency it provides.

Location 📍

The session takes place at the Dubai training facility, where classrooms are equipped for hands-on practice with analysers, cylinders, and dive computers. This controlled environment allows instructors to walk you through calculations and planning methods without time pressure.

Dubai is a popular region for nitrox diving due to its range of recreational depths and warm conditions. The knowledge you gain can be applied immediately on future dives across Dubai, Fujairah, or international destinations.

Prerequisites ✔️

A PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent is required to enrol. You should be comfortable with basic dive theory and able to use a dive computer at an entry level. No recent diving activity is necessary, as this speciality focuses on theory and equipment handling rather than in-water performance.

Participants must be at least 12 years old and complete the e-learning portion before attending the workshop.

Why Choose Us 💬

This centre has extensive experience teaching nitrox divers and provides clear, structured instruction suited to both newer and advanced divers.
