Escape the busy streets of Marrakech for a guided horseback riding experience through the peaceful Palmeraie. Palm-lined trails, open landscapes, and traditional rural surroundings create a relaxing setting away from the medina crowds. The experience lasts about 3 hours including hotel pickup and return, with plenty of time to enjoy the ride and surrounding scenery.
Duration: About 3 hours including hotel pickup and return
Group Size: 1 to 15 guests
Meeting Point: Pickup from your accommodation in the Marrakech area
Activity: Guided horseback riding through the Palmeraie
After pickup from your accommodation, travel to the horse stable in the Palmeraie. Meet your guide and horse, then receive a short introduction covering riding basics, safety, and how to control your horse before setting out.
Follow your guide along peaceful trails through palm groves and open countryside, discovering a quieter side of Marrakech away from the busy city center. Along the way, enjoy the natural surroundings, traditional rural scenery, and views toward the Atlas Mountains when conditions are clear.
The riding pace is adapted to the experience and confidence of the group. Beginners can enjoy a comfortable ride at a relaxed pace, while riders with more experience may have opportunities for a faster pace where trail conditions safely allow.
There will be opportunities to slow down, enjoy the surroundings, and take photos during the ride. Your guide stays with the group throughout the activity and adjusts the route and pace according to trail and weather conditions.
After completing the horseback ride, return to the stable and meet your driver for the transfer back to your accommodation in Marrakech.
The activity takes place in Marrakech’s Palmeraie, an extensive palm-grove area outside the busy medina. Its palm-lined tracks and open landscapes provide a peaceful setting for horseback riding while remaining within convenient reach of the city.
Hotel pickup and return within the designated Marrakech pickup area are included, making it easy to enjoy the activity without arranging separate transportation.
No previous horseback riding experience is required. The activity is suitable for beginners as well as guests with previous riding experience.
Wear comfortable clothing and closed, sturdy footwear suitable for horseback riding. Follow your guide’s safety instructions throughout the activity and let the team know in advance about any relevant requirements that could affect your participation.
Combine horseback riding with an opportunity to discover the quieter landscapes surrounding Marrakech. Instead of staying within the busy city, ride through the Palmeraie’s palm-lined trails and open countryside with a local guide.
With hotel pickup and return included, guidance throughout the ride, and a pace adapted to different experience levels, this activity offers a comfortable way to experience Marrakech’s rural surroundings from horseback.
We'll collect you from your Marrakesh hotel and take you to the start point. Be ready with the kit listed for this session and any voucher details. The crew talk through safety, timing and how the horse riding will run before you head out.
The core of the day is guided horse riding time in the Morocco scenery. Stay with your group, listen to the briefing and ask if you want a slower pace or extra help with kit. Listen to spacing advice and riding tips from your guide and stay with the group unless told otherwise.
Take a breather between active sections, drink water and check kit with your guide before continuing with the second part of the session. Your guide stays close throughout and can slow the pace if you want extra help with kit, a slower pace on the trail.
After the last section you transfer back to your hotel in Marrakesh. The whole experience is about 3 hours door to door, so keep the rest of your schedule flexible. Gather your belongings, thank the crew and double-check you have towels, dry clothes and anything you left on the boat or at the base before you leave.
Yes. Collection from hotels in the Marrakesh area is part of this experience. Give your hotel name when you book so the driver can find the right gate, and be ready in the window you are given.
Build the whole 3-hour shape into your day rather than planning something tight immediately afterwards. Traffic along resort roads can slow the van.
No previous experience is required for this horse riding. Your guide briefs you before you start and stays close while you try the activity.
Say if you are nervous or a new to riding so the crew can pace the session and offer flotation where it helps.
Light refreshments may be offered depending on the format. Carry water and a snack if you eat breakfast early.
Soft drinks beyond what is served may be extra. Bring cash if you want extras on the boat or at the base.
Practical kit is comfortable clothes for the activity, sun protection and a towel. Closed shoes help on boats and in the desert.
Bring a phone pouch or leave valuables at the hotel. Reef-safe sunscreen matters on long days in the sun.
Activity equipment is provided for the session. Bring your own mask or riding boots only if you prefer gear you already know.
Fit helmets, life jackets or harnesses before you start so you are not adjusting them mid-session. Ask when you book if you need a slower pace or extra briefing time on the day.
This runs for groups from 1 to 15 people. Smaller groups mean more attention from your guide on the trail or in the dunes.
Private formats keep the whole boat or vehicle to your party. Follow the guide's spacing on the trail.
About 3 hours including collection and the main activity time. Keep the whole window free rather than squeezing other plans around it.
A late appearance at reception or the meeting point shortens time on the activity because the session leaves with the group.
Families are welcome when children are comfortable with the activity format. Infant seats may be available on transfers where listed.
Say ages when you book so the crew can plan seating, kit sizes and pacing on the water or in the desert.
This activity needs workable conditions. If wind, sea state or sand storms rule it out, the crew may reschedule or switch sites.
You will be told as early as they can once morning conditions are clear. Have a loose plan for the rest of the day.
Give your hotel name and a reachable phone number when you book. We'll confirm the pickup window or meeting pin closer to the day.
Notes are the place for dietary needs, ages, or a later pickup if you have an evening plan after the session.
