Sail along Zanzibar’s northern coastline on a private catamaran cruise from Kendwa Beach. This half-day experience combines relaxed sailing with snorkeling near the reefs off Nungwi, where clear water and coral formations attract a variety of tropical fish. With drinks, snacks and a professional crew onboard, the cruise offers a comfortable way to explore Zanzibar from the water.
The experience begins at Kendwa Beach on Zanzibar’s northern coast. After meeting the crew, guests board the private 41-foot catamaran and receive a short introduction before departing along the coastline.
The yacht sails north toward Nungwi, one of the island’s most well-known coastal areas. During the cruise you can relax on the shaded seating areas or stretch out on the forward netting at the front of the catamaran while taking in views of the shoreline.
The captain anchors near the coral reefs offshore where guests can snorkel in clear water. Snorkeling equipment is provided and the crew assists guests entering and exiting the water.
After snorkeling, the catamaran continues cruising along the coast. Guests can enjoy cold drinks, tropical fruit and light snacks while listening to music on the onboard sound system. The cruise then returns to Kendwa Beach where the experience ends.
Kendwa Beach is located on the northern tip of Zanzibar Island in Tanzania. The area is known for its wide sandy beach and calm water, making it a popular departure point for sailing and snorkeling trips.
Nungwi lies just north of Kendwa and is home to coral reefs close to shore, creating accessible snorkeling sites with clear visibility and marine life.
No previous sailing or snorkeling experience is required. Snorkeling equipment is provided and the crew can assist guests in the water.
The experience is not recommended for pregnant travellers. The catamaran is not wheelchair or stroller accessible, and pets are not permitted.
