In this course, you’ll work on key windsurfing techniques in the sheltered, shallow waters of Hove Lagoon. The lessons are designed to improve your overall control and confidence on the board, allowing you to tackle windsurfing challenges with ease.

Our Windsurf Improvers Course takes place at Hove Lagoon, a calm and sheltered body of seawater just minutes from Brighton’s seafront. The shallow lagoon provides the perfect environment to practise and improve without the pressure of open water.
This course is for those who can already get up and windsurf, with between 2 to 4 hours of previous windsurfing experience. If you’re a non-swimmer, please let us know in advance so we can make suitable safety arrangements.

No, we provide all the necessary equipment, including a windsurf board, sail, wetsuit, and buoyancy aid. You’ll only need to bring your swimwear to wear under the wetsuit and a towel for after the session.
Yes, the course is suitable for participants aged 14 and over. If you're under 14, we offer dedicated windsurfing lessons for younger children.
We run sessions in most weather conditions, but in the case of extreme wind or lightning, we may need to cancel the session for safety reasons. If this happens, we will reschedule your session at no extra cost.
At Hove Lagoon, we offer excellent on-site facilities, including changing rooms, hot showers, and lockers for storing your belongings. There’s also a café where you can grab snacks or drinks after your session. The centre is fully accessible for disabled participants.
The water quality at Hove Lagoon is regularly tested by Brighton and Hove City Council. Natural algae may occur, but it is harmless and managed with organic treatments. The water is replenished with fresh seawater regularly, and it meets all bathing water quality standards.
