This rental is designed for independent riders who are confident managing equipment and navigating on the water without supervision. After collecting your gear at the scheduled time, you’ll head out onto Riddarfjärden to practise or explore at your own pace.
Windsurfers will have access to stable boards and appropriately sized sails depending on conditions, allowing you to work on technique, improve consistency, or simply enjoy freer sailing. If you choose a SUP setup, you can paddle along the sheltered shoreline and take in central Stockholm from the water.
There is no formal instruction included, but the setup is coordinated alongside lesson times, meaning staff are present to assist with equipment collection and return. You are responsible for your own safety and for returning both yourself and the equipment to shore within the allocated time.
The rental takes place on Riddarfjärden, a central Stockholm waterway known for its relatively flat conditions and accessible launch points. This makes it suitable for independent practice, especially for those who have recently completed lessons.
You’ll collect your equipment from Rålambshovsparken on Kungsholmen, a large park with direct access to the water. The location is easy to reach and provides a straightforward setup for getting on and off the water efficiently.
This is not suitable for complete beginners. Windsurfers should have completed at least two beginner sessions or have equivalent experience, including the ability to sail in both directions, control the sail, and return safely to shore.
You must be confident managing equipment independently and making basic safety decisions on the water. Participants should be comfortable swimming while wearing a buoyancy aid.
The equipment is designed to be adaptable and user-friendly, allowing you to match your setup to the conditions and your ability. This makes it easier to continue progressing independently without being limited by unsuitable gear.
