What to Expect
Once you've made your booking, you can select where you'd like to go—whether it's a calm river, a scenic mountain lake, or a cascading waterfall. After confirming your location, your adventure begins with a clear meeting point or, for added convenience, a pick-up from your accommodation. From there, you'll head out on a walk to your chosen swim spot, which may take around 30 minutes over uneven ground, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings and chat with your guide.
At the swim location, your guide will walk you through water safety before entering the water. Depending on your preference, you could swim in calm lake waters, explore river currents, or enjoy the rush of a waterfall. The day is fully flexible, so you can take it at your own pace and swim as much or as little as you like. After your swim, relax with a warm break before heading back to your meeting point or accommodation.
Location
You have the freedom to choose from a range of locations across North Wales, each offering something different—from hidden waterfalls nestled in valleys to remote lakes surrounded by mountains.
While most spots require a walk of at least 30 minutes to reach, the effort is always worth it, as you’ll be rewarded with gorgeous views and a peaceful swim in nature’s most beautiful spots. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for uneven and sometimes slippery terrain.
Prerequisites
For your safety and enjoyment, participants should be comfortable swimming in open water, particularly in moving and potentially cold conditions. All swimming will be guided, but you should feel confident in natural water environments.
The swim locations are often accessed by walking over uneven or muddy ground, so a reasonable level of fitness and sturdy footwear are required. Don’t forget to bring any personal medication, such as inhalers or EpiPens, which the guide can carry for you in dry bags.
