### Highlights
Step away from the everyday and dive into the wild waters of North Wales. From serene river pools to dramatic waterfalls and peaceful lakes, this wild swimming adventure lets you discover hidden gems of nature. Once you've booked, you can choose your preferred location, and your guides will take you to the perfect spot for an unforgettable day of swimming. Key Details Duration: Full day Group size: Up to 8 people Location: North Wales Age limit: 8+ What to Expect Once you've made your booking, you can select where you'd like to go—whether it's a calm river, a scenic mountain lake, or a cascading waterfall. After confirming your location, your adventure begins with a clear meeting point or, for added convenience, a pick-up from your accommodation. From there, you'll head out on a walk to your chosen swim spot, which may take around 30 minutes over uneven ground, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings and chat with your guide. At the swim location, your guide will walk you through water safety before entering the water. Depending on your preference, you could swim in calm lake waters, explore river currents, or enjoy the rush of a waterfall. The day is fully flexible, so you can take it at your own pace and swim as much or as little as you like. After your swim, relax with a warm break before heading back to your meeting point or accommodation. Location You have the freedom to choose from a range of locations across North Wales, each offering something different—from hidden waterfalls nestled in valleys to remote lakes surrounded by mountains. While most spots require a walk of at least 30 minutes to reach, the effort is always worth it, as you’ll be rewarded with gorgeous views and a peaceful swim in nature’s most beautiful spots. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for uneven and sometimes slippery terrain. Prerequisites For your safety and enjoyment, participants should be comfortable swimming in open water, particularly in moving and potentially cold conditions. All swimming will be guided, but you should feel confident in natural water environments. The swim locations are often accessed by walking over uneven or muddy ground, so a reasonable level of fitness and sturdy footwear are required. Don’t forget to bring any personal medication, such as inhalers or EpiPens, which the guide can carry for you in dry bags. Why Choose Us The team consists of experienced Mountain Leaders and Wild Swim Guides who live and work in North Wales,…

## FAQs

### Can you pick me up and drop me off?

Yes, we can provide a pick-up and drop-off service from select locations. This service costs £50 and is available from areas close to Llanberis, Caernarfon, Pwllheli, Abersoch, Nefyn, Porthmadog, Beddgelert, and Blaenau Ffestiniog. Pick-up is usually at 09:30, with drop-off at around 16:30. Unfortunately, we can’t collect from anywhere in North Wales—only from the areas listed.

### What locations can I choose for my wild swimming day in North Wales?

After booking, you'll be able to choose from a range of locations across North Wales, including hidden waterfalls, remote lakes, and rivers surrounded by scenic landscapes. The guides will help you select a spot based on your preferences, whether you want a quiet spot for a peaceful swim or a more active location with currents to navigate. Be sure to ask for recommendations if you're unsure.

### How fit do I need to be for this adventure?

While wild swimming is for all levels of experience, participants should be in good enough physical condition to walk over uneven, sometimes slippery, ground for up to 30 minutes to reach the swim spots. Some areas involve uphill walks, so a basic level of fitness is important. If you're not used to walking on challenging terrain, bringing walking poles can help with stability.

### What should I bring with me for the swim?

For your swim, you’ll need a swimming costume (or two), swim towel, neoprene socks or swim shoes (or old trainers), and any personal swim gear you prefer, like wetsuits or gloves. A waterproof bag for wet gear is essential. You should also bring sturdy walking shoes or boots for the journey to the swim spots, as well as a warm hat and gloves for post-swim comfort. Don't forget sunscreen, a water bottle, and a thermos for a hot drink.

### Can I bring my children along?

Children should be confident swimmers and comfortable in outdoor water. If you're planning to bring younger swimmers, it’s essential they are supervised by you at all times. The guides can help adjust the swim to suit younger or less experienced swimmers if needed, but everyone should be able to safely swim in moving water with supervision.

### What if the weather is bad on the day of the swim?

While the weather can be unpredictable in Wales, wild swimming is often possible, even in less-than-ideal conditions. However, safety is the priority, and if the conditions are unsafe (such as strong winds, heavy rainfall, or poor visibility), the team may reschedule the swim for another day. You will be informed ahead of time if this happens, and you’ll be given the option to choose a new date.

### Is the swim safe?

Yes, safety is the highest priority. All guides are qualified Wild Swim Guides and Mountain Leaders, with outdoor first aid training and extensive experience in the local area. The team will provide a safety briefing before you enter the water, and they will guide you throughout the session. You’ll always swim with supervision, and the locations are chosen with safety in mind. The guides carry emergency equipment and are trained in handling outdoor risks. Our staff are members of North Wales Mountain Rescue Teams - they've got lots of experience that'll help keep you safe.
