







This 1.5-hour SUP (stand-up paddleboarding) session is designed for newcomers to paddleboarding, offering a comprehensive introduction to this exciting and relaxing water sport. Our sessions are set in a picturesque stretch of the River Thames, providing the perfect backdrop for learning and adventure.
We will cover:
Our session begins at our base, where our ISA-trained coaches will introduce you to the equipment and ensure you're fitted with buoyancy aids. You'll learn about water safety, river etiquette, and the basics of paddleboarding. After this on-land introduction, you'll practice these new skills on the water, guided by our experienced coaches.
We meet at The Albany Pub, Queens Rd, Thames Ditton, KT7 0QY, before heading to the beautiful stretch of the River Thames for our session.
We ask that you please park responsibly in the local area. There is parking available at The Albany Pub, and if you use it, the team would love to welcome you in afterward for a post-paddle recovery drink. The team are also happy for you to access toilets through the pub, and would be appreciative if you buy a beverage by way of thank you for using their facilities.
To join this taster session, you should be aged 14 or above. Please not that under 18s must be accompanied by a participating adult. No prior paddleboarding experience is required.
We are a British Canoeing-affiliated club, established in 2017 by paddleboarding enthusiasts. Our focus on safety and fun, guided by highly trained coaches, ensures a rewarding experience. Wear gym gear in warm weather, and a wetsuit or quick-drying layers in colder weather. Waterproof shoes or old trainers are recommended.
All paddleboarding equipment and buoyancy aids are provided. Just bring a towel and a change of clothes and suncream if hot.
Yes, all our coaches are trained by the International Surfing Association and hold Rescue and First Aid training from Surf Live Saving GB Club.
Each session accommodates up to 6 people to an instructor, ensuring a personalised experience with high coach-to-student interaction.
Our session is tailored for beginners, so no prior experience is necessary. You'll learn everything from the basics.
Safety is our priority. Along with expert instruction, we provide buoyancy aids, and our coaches are trained in rescue and first aid.
