Experience personalised climbing instruction designed around your individual goals. Whether you’re aiming to learn the basics, refine your technique, or tackle more challenging routes, these sessions provide focused, safe, and enjoyable coaching. You can choose between a full day or a half-day session, giving flexibility for beginners, seasoned climbers, or groups wanting an intensive or shorter experience.
Sessions begin with a safety briefing, equipment fitting, and goal setting tailored to your skill level and preferences. Half-day sessions focus on core techniques, warm-ups, and short climbs, while full-day sessions provide extended time to explore multiple routes and develop a broader range of skills.
You’ll learn rope management, belaying, anchor building, and climbing movement techniques. Instruction is personalised, so beginners concentrate on basic skills and confidence-building, while experienced climbers can focus on lead climbing, problem-solving, and refining technical movement.
During breaks, your instructor will provide feedback, demonstrate techniques, and discuss route selection, environmental care, and climbing etiquette. Each session concludes with a debrief highlighting achievements and suggestions for further progress, ensuring you leave with clear goals and practical advice for future climbs.
Climbing sessions take place across several limestone and sandstone crags in the South West. Avon Gorge offers classic multi-pitch climbing overlooking the River Avon, Wyndcliff provides sheltered single-pitch routes ideal for learning, and Cleeve Hill’s open setting gives expansive terrain for skill development. Fairy Cave Quarry features varied routes to suit multiple ability levels.
These locations are easily accessible from Bristol and Bath, providing a mix of scenic views and practical climbing challenges. The venues offer a safe environment to develop skills under professional guidance while enjoying the outdoors.
Private sessions are open to adults aged 18 and over and suitable for all experience levels. Beginners will learn essential climbing and safety techniques, while advanced participants can focus on more technical skills and lead climbing.
Participants should be reasonably fit and comfortable spending several hours outdoors. Your instructor adapts pacing and intensity to match your ability and stamina, ensuring a safe and rewarding experience.
All instructors are highly experienced climbers with extensive teaching backgrounds. They focus on practical learning, progressive coaching, and creating an environment that’s both safe and motivating.
Small group sizes guarantee personal attention, tailored feedback, and plenty of climbing time. Sessions are structured around your goals, ensuring measurable progress whether you choose a half-day introduction or a full-day intensive experience.
