Learn the skill of precision shooting at a purpose-built outdoor range in Bristol. Under the guidance of qualified NSRA instructors, you’ll learn to handle and shoot air rifles safely while developing focus and accuracy through a series of fun and competitive challenges. Whether you’re new to shooting or just looking to test your aim, this session offers a great balance of learning and competition.
Your session begins with a full introduction and safety briefing led by a National Small-bore Rifle Association (NSRA) instructor. You’ll start with an overview of the equipment, learning how to handle the rifles safely and identify each component. Once you’re comfortable, you’ll move on to your first set of practice shots, working on breathing, stance, and aim.
After mastering the basics, you’ll take part in several games and challenges designed to test your consistency and accuracy. Expect friendly competition as you take turns scoring points, trying different target setups, and competing for the best shot of the session. The experience finishes in the shooting gallery, where you’ll get to apply your new skills and see just how much you’ve improved.
Sessions last around 1.5 hours, with group sizes kept small for plenty of one-to-one guidance. The range can host up to 16 people at a time, making it ideal for families, friends, or corporate team sessions. If you’re booking for a larger group or event, extended sessions and private slots can be arranged on request.

The layout includes clearly marked shooting bays, a variety of target distances, and sheltered positions for year-round sessions. It’s a welcoming environment where participants of all levels can learn at their own pace.
Situated just outside the city centre, the site is easy to reach by car or public transport. Parking and basic facilities are available on-site, and the surrounding area has plenty of nearby cafés and green spaces, making it easy to turn your visit into a day out.
No prior experience is required to join this session — all training, instruction, and equipment are provided. The session is designed for beginners, focusing on safety and technique before moving into the challenges and free shoot stages.

Sunglasses or a cap if it's sunny.
Wellies and waterproof jacket if it's raining.
No, this session is designed specifically for beginners. You’ll start with an introduction to rifle handling and safety, followed by hands-on coaching from NSRA-qualified instructors. Each stage is paced to match your confidence and ability.
Even if you’ve never held a rifle before, the instructors make it easy to pick up the basics. By the end of the session, most participants can hit the target consistently and often surprise themselves with their progress.
Absolutely. Safety is the top priority, and all sessions are supervised by qualified instructors who ensure everyone follows clear and simple guidelines. The range is purpose-built, with barriers and safe shooting zones in place.
Every participant receives a safety briefing before handling any equipment. You’ll also be given protective eyewear and will always shoot under close supervision to ensure a controlled and comfortable experience.
You’ll be using high-quality, low-recoil air rifles that are suitable for beginners. Each rifle is maintained to ensure accuracy and reliability during every session. The setup allows you to focus on improving technique rather than managing heavy recoil.
Different target distances are available so your instructor can adapt the challenge level as you progress. You’ll also get the chance to test your precision in the final shooting gallery stage.
Each session can host up to 16 people, keeping the group small enough for individual attention. This means your instructor can spend time helping you perfect your aim and technique.
For private groups, corporate events, or parties, larger bookings can be arranged in advance. If there are more than 16 participants, the centre may extend the session to ensure everyone gets plenty of shooting time.
Comfortable outdoor clothing is best, as you’ll be standing and moving during the session. Layers are useful in cooler weather, and waterproofs may be helpful if it’s raining.
Closed-toe footwear is essential — trainers or boots work perfectly. Avoid open shoes, sandals, or loose accessories that might interfere with handling the rifle safely.
Yes, the minimum age for this activity is 12 years old. Anyone aged between 12 and 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult who stays for the duration of the session.
The equipment and instruction are adapted to suit younger participants, ensuring they can enjoy the experience safely and confidently. It’s a great activity for families to enjoy together.
